  1. My aircon screen doesnt work, like just about every R32 i know of. The wierd part about it is that it operates perfectly whenever my brother is in the car. I think somehow it KNOWS he has a degree in electronic engineering and gets scared into working. Red17
  2. These look like Vertec VR5 Quests made by Manaray Sport, which look amazing in the flesh. Interested, but would like to see close up pics. Im in Perth but can provide a Sydney delivery address. Oh BTW these should fit without rubbing, i had what looks to be the same rim priced up new in a 8 and 9 inch combination which I was assured fits perfectly on 32's and 33's. Red17
  3. Im trying to remember the last time my skyline lost it into a fence whilst driving slowly around a corner and keeping left. Oh thats right................ never Glad your and yours are OK, the road toll doesnt need additions. Red17
  4. Awww man, a 15 year old can afford the same car as me. I think its time to buy a Stagea 260RS. **** you 15 year rule! Red17
  5. Erik, Tread on the tyres is good? I seem to remember seeing in a previous post on these wheels that you said they had 90 percent on em. If thats the case, ill offer you 1000, but im in Perth so i can pick them up! I presume you have another set waiting to go on your R34? What did you get? Red17
  6. I saw a place called "Downunder Mufflers" on the corner of Scarb Bch Rd and Loftus St that has an Autowatch dealer sign out the front. These guys used to do a heap of compliancing work and specialise in imported cars apparently. I was gonna take my Autowatch to em coz my central locking has never worked since I picked the car up and I never whinged at the time... silly me. Red17
  7. Umm MadGT4. of course its coolant, how do you think your cabin heater works, engine coolant is pumped through the firewall and into a metal heater core. It corrodes like any other part of the coolant system. Id seriously stop driving the car whilst its leaking, loss of coolant will cause your car to overheat and if you think running an engine without oil is catastrophic, wait till you run it without water! Best way to bin a motor. Id doubt its just a hose leak, or else it would be leaking more constantly. Heater cores are not easy to replace, they involve removing alot of the dashboard. If i were you id get the screwdrivers out and remove the core yourself then take it to a radiator shop for repair. Or else you'll be paying a mechanic at 50-80 dollars an hour to do a job that could take a whole day to do. red17
  8. Most BOV's will flutter at low RPM gear changes, usually when the turbo isnt moving at a high rpm so damage is pretty minimal. Even my standard bov used to make the flutter sound so it cant be doing damage from the factory. As long as once the car builds boost you arent hearing the flutter and instead have a nice solid psssscchhttt sound then you should be right Red17
  9. Whos skyline was mentioned on the inside cover column today quote: "A sporty skyline which was obviously the owners pride and joy, spotted in a Morley car park had a piece of paper stuck to the dash with a hand written note on it saying 'double demerits' " I had a good chuckle at this one, many a time ive accelerated away from the lights and remembered sometime through second gear that its double demerits. Anyway, who is it? Red17
  10. I heard "buy an australian car" from a bloke driving a 6 cylinder VL commodore. Did someone not tell him that his cars 85 percent nissan? I also got "Only milk and oj comes in 2 litres mate" to which i responded "Only shit wine comes in 5 litres" When the new WRX's came out with the bug eyes my brother leaned over from his GSXR750 and said to the owner "Jesus thats an ugly car mate" to which the guy said "Yeah well your ugly"... the comeback from my brother was swift and owning "Yeah but i didnt pay 40 grand for my head"... and proceeded to do a mono across the intersection. Red17
  11. Denver shouldnt your signature read "Symmetry creates understeer"... since your car is now RWD you surely must agree with us Nissanfolk. As for your ricerscooter....... I must sadly say that those neons are now available at my work, Altronics have finally caved in to customer pressure and riced up Red17
  12. This thread has got to be due to bad tunes or installation problems because ive got a turboXs type H (atmo) that has behaved perfectly since day 1. I still get pops out of the exhaust from time to time but it did that on the standard bov anyway! Fuel economy is identical to the standard bov. I only fitted it because i was sick of the sensitivity of the stock one and it being incredibly noisy. Is this just an R32 thing? Coz mine used to whistle like **** at every slight throttle change. I noticed very little noticeable difference in driveability, stalling or lag or any of the other symptoms described in this thread. Red17
  13. Hyperdrive Motorsport? Sounds like you service Imperial starships. Must have a big workshop to fit something like the enterprise in there Red17
  14. Well you can all have my job, ive worked 64 hour weeks for the last 5 weeks and ive got another 6 weeks to go. And I dont get paid overtime Red17
  15. Probably easier to get the whole box rebuilt at the same time, to avoid problems down the track. Im sure a mechanic in here could give you a price. Either that or buy a new gearbox, theres probably plenty of RB20 ones around that are cheap. Or alternatively bolt up the stronger R33 box. But I wouldnt worry too much until you start having serious problems using the gears, popping out whilst driving, cant select gears etc.. Red17
  16. Mine does the same thing, its normal. Not necessarily caused by the factory wastegate but probably more that you are reaching the peak of the stock turbochargers efficency. Gradually as shaft rpm increases air starts to spill off the impeller rather than going through it, dropping efficency. An EBC wont fix this. Ive got one and it sure as hell dont fix it. Red17
  17. I was also told that my AFM was fine. Nissans ECU diagnostics showed the values were within spec. But after cleaning the AFM the problem was fixed, so it must be that! Red17
  18. Im only experienced with local prices. I paid 16k for my car by personally importing it myself. Back then you couldnt get a 32 under 21 thousand in Perth and they were rare as rocking horse shit. Now you can personally import a 15 year old car for 10k-ish, but to be honest ive only seen one or two in decent nick. The rest have been really rough. Hard to say what theyre worth, some owners might be looking at the "15 year" cars and dropping the value based on that. Others might not even know you can pick one up so cheap so they keep their price high. Very difficult to judge. As for insurance, not sure what its like in NZ with its copious amounts of imports, but I pay 700 bucks a year. Red17
  19. I was wandering around after bolting the car up and could see Paul pacing back and forth nervously as if he was awaiting some bad news from a doctor Thankfully Pausl 33 all held together.... in fact apart from a radiator hose, we didnt have a single problem all weekend with the cars. Some cars were clearly running more boost than they should have been, when you can hear it detonating 30 feet away, its time to retune it Red17
  20. Thanks for the praise fellaz, i should apologise for my tone in my original post. Id just gotten in from PAS and the APA team had been severely chastised by a certain person on a certain trade stand for quote "running a dyno comp nobody ****ing wants". So suffice to say I was not in a good mood. Red17
  21. Timing? I know my mechanic had trouble setting my timing to stock setting, kept dying and idling rough. Mines still a tad rough on idle, but im gonna put up with it.
  22. http://www.highoctanephotos.com/modules.ph...album=38&page=1 Lotsa pages of photos from Saturday, Sundays yet to come. Red17
  23. For starters we use torque wrenches on all wheel nuts, every single nut across the 34 cars we dyno'ed over 2 days have their nuts done up to the same safe level. We are extremely mindful of such concerns about wheel damage etc.. Why do you think we dont use rattle guns? We've got em, dont use em on street cars. Secondly your time concerns, yes there were a few cars that took longer than others, the 4wds obviously. As far as whether the crowd liked it or not, we didnt give a shit. We were doing our job as quickly and reliably as possible, or do you want us to drop wheels on their face on bitumen? A GTR today had to be taken off the dyno after being completely bolted up due to its body kit being too wide and the risk of damage to the car was considered too high. But i guess you think we should have run it anyway, cracked the sideskirt off, just to please the crowd, so we didnt waste any of their precious minutes. Red17
  24. Steve I wasnt writing that post to piss in peoples pockets. Just stating a fact. Why must you always be defending yourself? Red17
  25. I'll probably be helping out, with 3 people on each wheel its actually pretty quick. Besides the dynapack does have its advantages, no wheelspin Red17
