  1. If its for street use, i wouldnt bother with Emanage, PowerFC or anything involving removing the stock computer. Just get a remap, its cheap, effective and involves very little messing around. I thought injectors on an rb20 were good for that sort of hp (264), why upgrade?
  2. There is a weight difference to consider too. The GTS-4 is closer to GTR weight with the extra drivetrain componentry, yet still retains the steel guards and bonnet.
  3. Hi everyone, Ive got a window rubber seal that runs around the the rear windshield on my 32 and its severly sun damaged to the point that its lifting off the glass and letting water in under it. Does anyone know someone in perth who can do replacements of these? Not the type of spare id expect to get off a wreck. So i presume a custom aftermarket one is the way to go. Red17
  4. Nissan Air Flow Meter Syndrome - My car had precisely the same symptoms. I sprayed mine with electrical contact cleaner, fixed it.
  5. Umm no, sounds like a wheel balance problem still. Wheel balance problems generally manifest themselves most at around 90-110km/h depending on the car/rim/tyre. Id say you need to get them rebalanced. Perhaps one of the new weights they put on has fallen off? Or they dont know what theyre doing.
  6. http://www.wheelspecs.com/main/index.php Best site on the net for finding offsets, weights etc on rims.
  7. I see one person pushing a barrow. And another without a barrow to push. Quite frankly, why on earth workshops persist in posting on forums is beyond me. It makes them look decidedly silly. Right or wrong, it just seems too much like self promotion. Normally businesses need to donate in order to promote themselves on here, steves getting all his plugs in for free.
  8. Im pretty sure you can get them from Covvo's for 80 bucks minus plug, or so ive been told. If your handy with a soldering iron (especially since its solid core wiring) you could do it fairly cheaply. I need to get one myself, so ill find out. Red17
  9. Iron chef is the best. I love how they give ditzy english voiceovers for all the jap female actors. Is it just me or do they always seem to concentrate their opinions on one part of the dish. Last week the chick couldnt stop prattling on about fish skin. Red17
  10. A drop saw is handy for chopping off excess. Or what i did on the front of my line was to space it out from the bumper with two short lengths of ally pipe. http://www.arach.net.au/~n12a1/line3web.jpg Like so Red17
  11. Im all for the 15 year rule being scrapped also. For the reasons stated above. But why cant the government extend the RAWS scheme a bit further making it a little easier (and somewhat cheaper) to import a wider range of vehicles. That would make more sense to me. Red17
  12. Its nice to see the myth of percentage loss drivetrain calculation has been dismissed by Sydneykid. Ive been saying the same thing for years, yet no one seems to listen. I mean surely if a supposed 300kw motor is only putting out 150kw at the wheels then the gearbox would have melted from trying to disperse 150kw of heat? Sure, theres some increased losses involved as horsepower increases, but quantifying it as a percentage seems a very general (and trivial) way of doing it. Red17
  13. Can i ask why there seems to be multiple interpretations of the same characters in the japanese language, is it a cultural thing, whereby different inflections and nuances produce different meanings? Id always figured that was a feature of the cantonese and mandarin languages, whilst japanese was very logical and less inprecise. It just seems every time i see something in japanese interpreted people come out with 4 variations of meaning. Red17
  14. Gradenko, ive had similar issues with my car and it was also AFM, id almost say for certain thats it. I even took my car to a workshop and had them test it all via the diagnostic port, even changed the plugs thinking it was that, cost me $80 and it still didnt fix it. Diagnostics said AFM readings were within spec. In the end i resorted to a backyard fix thinking it was the AFM, ignoring nissans diagnostics. Sure enough a drowning in contact cleaner and it was running perfectly again. Red17
  15. I dont think youve got any reason to complain, sounds like perfectly logical things theyve picked you up on. The picture in your avatar clearly shows the wing is wider than the cars cabin, no wonder its deemed illegal. As for turning up for an inspection with bald tyres and no indicators on the front... well, you deserved that. Ive heard of people who've encountered greater injustices than yours in regards to defect notices anyway. Red17
  16. WILKINSONS! I think ive said this to you before man. As far as im concerned they is de best in Perth. Red17
  17. Oh carbies work, no doubt about that, but alot less flexible generally than most EFI systems nowadays. I even once saw a quad carbie kit for an SR20DE in a japanese mag, betcha that would have sounded impressive. Red17
  18. Umm, has the battery got some distilled water in it? Harder starts are usually the sign of a battery thats struggling to cope. Especially if its come on all of a sudden. My 32 is hard to start from cold, but its been like that ever since i got it, still no idea what causes it. Red17
  19. Umm i think we can safely say theres not a car currently in production on the planet (except maybe Skoda) that are still using carbies. Your mates are clearly from the V8 dinosaur set. Even most V8 guys realise fuel injection is the way to go nowadays. As you may or may not be aware theres two types of fuel delivery systems, one primitive (carburettors) and one modern (fuel injection). Red17
  20. Does he turn around 3 times and click his heels before he sits down?
  21. Check out http://www.arach.net.au/~n12a1/Japmagscans/ Theres a handfull of high res scans of some interesting pages from some issues of Drift Tengoku and Battle Magazine ive got laying around (pretty big files for some). Im going to be scanning more of these so check back soon. Ill try to upload them to the skylines gallery as well because my ISP limits me on space. I tried to use the gallery today and it just messed me around constantly, so I gave up. Eventually I want to make up a small site to store these scans, but im a bit busy at the moment. Ive got at least 40 magazines to get through so plenty of stuff to come. I know this is probly breaching copyright, but its not like these magazines are sold here or that we can even read em! Hope you like the drifting original 70's GTR page.... one of my favourites As is the Tein Ad with the little Go Slider! Man. Red17
  22. Has it got enough bloody guages? Mod list as long as ya arm! Makes me kinda regret buying a mostly stock one under the old compliance system. Me wantee Red17
  23. Who says cops pick on Skylines anyway? Had mine for 18 months and ive never been so much as looked at by a cop. Red17
  24. Well as for getting sideways, I was referring to something which had a bit of weekend track ability if he wanted to. Street drifting is bloody stupid. So I dont see any reason to tell the guy to "grow up"... in fact taking my car to the track on weekends is what taught me alot about my car and in particular how to handle it in tricky situations.
