  3. i gave up on insurers almost a decade ago. theyre all full of fake promises and only interested in making a profit (they are a business after all) especially after paying over $1000 per year for nothing when the time came if you read the fineprint, most say that even if an accident is not your fault, you are found 25% in the wrong just by being there. ive heard of insurers even refusing to pay for an accident in which the car was in the owners garage and hit by an out of control car... its everybodys right to choose whichever insurer suits their situation, its the insurers right to not pay you a cent if they can find a single reason not to. i personally think all insurers are a scam.
  4. ive PMd a few people that used to visit the forum but have since disappeared... hopefully by this weekend we can get semi-definite numbers for a 12.30 booking
  5. i keep all my good finds to myself...
  6. haha yep. those boxes are deceivingly heavy
  7. heres one to consider http://www.greenline.jp/catalogue/bccatpartlist.php?make=Nissan&carcode=V35&intake=NA&category=drivetrain
  8. dynamat. works well, big job. it works by adhering a tar based sheeting to steel and plastic, to reduce vibration of that particular part, which reduces sound waves from the panel flexing. to do it properly, you stick it to every panel, especially every large panel, including roof and spare wheel well... then for something extra you put it on the reverse side of trim panels too. the thicker it is, the heavier it is, the better it will work. the cavities between these also tend to amplify noise like a sub box, so in the boot i like to pack quilt wadding behind the trim the weakest link in cars however is the glass. tyre noise will pass thru that regardless...
  9. mines always been perfect. with the engine running i can put the car in D or R with the e-brake on, get out and walk around the car. and yes i have.
  10. i havent personally read any news articles, but aparrently this has something to do with the new entry in V8 supercars next year. is anyone able to confirm this?
  11. v35 prices will hardly increase. the infinity will just sit in show rooms until theyre discontinued and sent back unsold
  12. yep. careful driver. my current 20's have had 2mm of wear in just over a year/15000km
  13. yeah thats why i did it right after getting new tyres fitted, just prepped and painted before inflating. a set of tyres last me 5 years so i wasnt concerned
  14. nice set for sale on another forum http://zclub.com.au/forums/index.php?/topic/4220-varrstoen-112-hyper-black-polished-lip-achilles-atr-sport/#entry56433
  15. dont laugh.... mine were painted with cans! lots of prep work and elbow grease, many coats including clear, looked brand new. then i ended up selling them for $300 (idiot) new owner had them powder coated in a deep grey, apart from the colour change i couldnt pick a visual difference in finish... but i know the coating is now stronger
  16. yeah i was only thinking of m35's as the cars are virtually identical except for the body shape. and knowing how many people ask for ideas about v35s, i thought having a few turbos there might get people thinking. considered inviting 350z's aswell (vq35 engine, same mechanicals) but i think thats a bridge that still needs some planning
  17. ive tried this before and was never really happy with it. switched back to filament bulbs. all those $1 ebay "pure white" led's look blueish, and dont emit much light. as a boot light, useless. you could get "warm white" colour which is closer to the original bulbs, or find a bulb with around 5000 lumens rating for more of an office fluoro light colour you want to find "cree l.e.d's" . these draw more power than a regular led or smd, but are far brighter (pretty much the same as an iphone 4 flash and some are brighter). they are usually rated at 2 watts each (which is 1/5th the current draw of a 10w filament bulb but with brighter light). the problem is: theyre not cheap. i know a guy who bought 10x 2 metre lengths of those ebay LED strips, stuck them to the roof lining of his work van, powered from the roof light.... that setup was effective! not as bright as the jaycar strip led's but much much cheaper
  18. powder coating can be done in many many colours these days too or DIY at home if you have patience... cost me $150 total to make my black 18's silver again
  19. ive always been a fan of raiding other forums. plenty bargains to be found locally
  20. but you'll still be one gasket short? theres no gasket for the extra mating surface?
  21. does anyone have a series one v35 sedan central trim panel in BLACK that they want to sell? doesnt need any of the electronics/radio/buttons, just the plastic panel will be fine.... maybe vents too. if it has the sunnies holder in the top, i'll take that too http://www.anythingelectronic.co.nz/images/Resized%20Skyline%20V35%20Console.png
