  1. Dunno if you guys have seen it, but i used the miata tyre calculater to check the tyre sizes. I had stretched 245/45-18 on my last rims, which were 18x9.5 + 12, and with the new tyres, the diameter/radius of the whole wheel is almost identical, which leads me to believe that it probably isn't the profile of the new tyres causing the rubbing and may just be the wider tyres or the higher offset with the current rims (+20 as opposed to +12 on the 18")...
  2. Hi guys, just bought a set of 275/35R19 tyres and had them fitted to my rims 19x10 + 20. I am getting some fairly significant rub on full lock and at any time the car bounces while driving (oh yeah aso have adjustable coilovers). Would you guys say it's because of the 35 profile on the tyres or the +20 offset of the rims? Do you think if I went to a lower profile tyre (30) it would alleviate this problem? What tyre sizes (and rim size with offset) are you guys running on your GTRs and do you get any rub? Cheers ps. I am aware there is a similar thread already running, however I thought this would be easier for the 34 GTR owners rather than sifting through pages of forums, with this thread also specifically being about tyre rubbing
  3. Would be interesting to get a definitive answer on this!
  4. As title says, I'm after a genuine nismo front bar, the kind that preceeded the z-tune front bar. It is called the 'r-tune' front bar. So i'm after either this one or the Z-tune one. Don't care about colour but must be in good/excellent condition. Was PM'd by a member a while ago but dont know where he went Cheers guys
  5. Hi guys, I have a BRAND NEW set of Nitto Invo 275/35R19 as the title says. Bought these just 4 days ago, paid over $1600 for them, then realised I wanted a lower profile just as theyd been fitted to my car (were not even driven on). Had them taken off and now I'm selling them for $1400. I'm located in Melbourne but can post interstate at buyers expense. Cheers
  6. Hmm to get a set of big ass rotors made up, which would use the stock calipers and a set of rims with +12 offset, do you know roughly what theyd charge? Do you think it'd cost more than project mu SCRs?
  7. Quick question for anyone that knows, what are the biggest DBA rotors you can fit onto a 34 GTR, front and back??
  8. Is that stuff thick or just a thin coating lacquer? The coating on the VS2 bonnet ducts is almost like a thick (2mm) layer of clear plastic!
  9. NISMO LMGT4 - SOLD FOR CHEAP ADVAN RS - MAKE AN OFFER - 19x10 + 20 ADVAN RS rims in black. 3 of them are completely unmarked and in new condition, 1 of them has a very minor and short scuff on the lip. Perfect fitment for GTRs, Evos, and WRXs. These are genuine ADVAN Racing forged monoblock rims, and weigh almost nothing. See link posted above for plenty of pics
  10. Haha well, if you really want a clean bayside blue NUR with original KMs, I did see one for sale in Japan about 3 months ago (not sure if it's still for sale). It had 405 original kms on it, absolutley brand new had been kept in storage, and the asking price was close to 10,000,000 yen!!!! that wouldve been on road here for about $140,000 ....If only I had the money...
  11. Anthony, like I said the other day, your car really is a stunner and it looks well taken care of so please dont take any offence to this, but I really think it'd be a hard bargain to find someone willing to pay over 50k for a 99 gtr with little money spent on it (I'm not referring to yours ). If it had had a lot of money spent on parts then yes, this may be a realistic asking price but otherwise I dont think it would be. I have been watching the 34 GTR market for the last five years on and off and more closely in the last year and half, and these are just the patterns I've observed in my humble opinion.
  12. I saw this ad years ago and there's a good reason why. It was posted for sale on the 28th of April 2008
  13. Shaun I was on the hunt for a Bayside Blue VS2 for over a year but limited myslef to only looking in Aus (hence why it took me so long). I flew all over Australia until I finally found the perfect one at a reasonable price. Roughly speaking, expect to pay between 53-62k for a clean bayside blue VS2 with some modifications, paperwork and logbooks. Dont listen to anyone who tells you a stock or lightly modified 1999 V-spec is worth more than 50k. They're dreaming. The market is flooded with them as it is with base model GTRs, and if you've been watching the market as closely as I have for the past 16 months you'll know that they're going for peanuts in comparison to later model VS2s in good condition. If on the other hand you choose to import, as you said, current going rate in Japan in >4,500,000 yen which after all duties, compliance, transport and everything is paid, will be on road for close to $70,000 AUD. PM if you need any info - I have plenty
  14. UPDATE: Front bar - SOLD pending payment Nismo eyelids - SOLD Intercooler - SOLD Turbos - SOLD Nismo LMGT4 - Deposit Taken Advan RS - STILL AVAILABLE - MAKE AN OFFER Nismo exhaust - SOLD pending payment AFMs - still available
  15. Shaun I think your budget is realistic but you'll be limited to buying locally (as in from Australia). The price for V-spec IIs in Japan has gone up considerably now given their relative rarity, high demand, and the terrible AUD to yen exchange rate (which alone would've had you paying ~30% less only a few years ago).
  16. Looks pretty awesome, can I ask how much micolour cost you for that work?
  17. Awesome thanks mate. I'll give them a buzz tomorrow. And Simon, the nismo GT diffuser fins are larger and look tougher than the factory OEM ones
  18. Wow your car is in awesome condition. Yellow looks beautiful! and the black paint on the vent actually does look quite good. Well, i guess i'm not game enough to attempt a job like that on my own. Who do you guys think in Melbourne could handle such a job and make it look good??
  19. My compliance plates and manufacturer's dates are different. Can anyone confirm build date please? VIN is 6U9000BNR34402519. Cheers
  20. Do you have any pics of your applications?
  21. Applying the ultra clear epoxy sounds alright but what about getting rid of the crazed yellow clear on top of the CF?
  22. Guys I need the rims gone, they're taking up too much space in my garage. Make a reasonable offer and they're yours. Again, the almost new set of 19x10 + 20 ADVAN RS rims are in black. 3 of them are completely unmarked and in new condition, 1 of them has a very minor and short scuff on the lip. Perfect fitment for GTRs, Evos, and WRXs. These are genuine ADVAN Racing forged monoblock rims, and weigh almost nothing. They retail new for over well over $4000 so make an offer and get them cheap. I can't seem to post up more pics so here's a link to my gumtree ad which has plenty of pics http://www.gumtree.com.au/m-my-ad.html?adId=1006037260&posted=true
  23. Ok, so we all know that over time in the harsh Australian climate the clear on the VS2 NACA duct starts to craze and looks pretty bad. I've been told by other forum members (and people selling VS2s coincidentally ) that it's an easy fix and a relatively cheap one too. I've been told that all you need to do is wet-sand it down until you almost reach the CF, then just reapply a 2 pack clear coat. A reputable body shop however has told me that this isn't the correct way to go about it, as if the clear is applied only to the NACA duct it will come off very easily especially if washed. They told me the whole bonnet needs to be re-cleared which is obviously much more expensive given the prep work and repainting. My question is for anyone who HAS actually done some sort of restoration on the V-spec II bonnet duct, what they did, how they did it, and what their results were like. Please no opinions or theories unless you have actually done it and specifcally in this application. Cheers
