Cheers. Size is 17 x 9 (+22) - which is pretty damn aggressive for an S15. No doubt will require some guardwork and a race alignment to clear the guards. Was planning to get them wrapped in 235/40/17 rubber, but after calling around tyre shops there's no AD08R's or R888's in the country and no one could give me an ETA. Seeing as Streeter is back on the 5th I might as well just do an order direct from Japan via DHL Express.

AD08R's are miles ahead of KU36's, very impressed with them. Tried to source a set of 235/40/17 AD08R's, but no luck whatsoever as they're out of stock nationally and the ETA for the next batch is 'unknown'. Then tried to source some Toyo R888's instead, but no luck as none in stock nationally and none on order. So it looks like im even gonna have to source my farkkkinn tyres direct from Japan.

Surge Tank & Fuel Line Selection - Advice Needed
BakemonoRicer replied to BakemonoRicer's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
lol, surge tank is more so for peace of mind as I plan to do a fair bit of circuit work. Even for fuel pressure regs, theres AN#6 and phi 8 fiitting option? So which fitting is it that I need? can't find any info on the net really. and yeah, only had some issues with the clutch because of the idiots who did the install. they lost some of my parts as well. ive found a good mechanic now who sorted it out, gearbox is still going strong btw. -
I plan to run a SARD surge tank fuel system in the S15 but first I need some advice please. I am looking on the Sard website and have noticed there are two options available for fittings: AN#6 φ8 I'm not sure what the difference is between those two? Which fitting do I need to suit the Silvia? What lines are considered the best brand? I've figured I'll run an EFR7064 turbo down the track - which is a turbo capable of ~340rwkw. Until the motor is built I'd be putting out ~250-260kw on 98 oct/17psi. In terms of the surge tank, is the cylinder type typically preferred over the cuboid type? Is it worth buying the 5L surge tank as its only a couple of hundred dollars more than the 2L tank... e.g. any disadvantages to running a 5L surge tank? Cheers

Jun 2.7 Stroker Kit Vs Nitto 2.7 Stroker Kit?
BakemonoRicer replied to boobeedoobee's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm fairly sure JUN don't make the full 2.7 Stroker kit anymore. There is a 2.7 available but it doesn't include the I Beam rods afaik.- 89 replies

Official End Of Year Putty Road Cruise - Wrap Up

lol. the 16km twisty section really is some of the best road in Australia, so when the coast was clear I snuck off a tad early... very enjoyable drive. Xklaba, nah not you man - God_Speed was in another group. -
wax your car in the sun. I apply with a megs applicator pad by hand.....or with my own bare hands. that is the best way to applicate, I avoid machines for waxing. I use the straight line technique to apply then buff off with a microfiber towel in circles. I do not get streaks doing it this way.

Rays Duralumin lug nuts look tasty... And nothing wrong with ALU, just torque them to spec....... weight reduction ftw.

Jun 2.7 Stroker Kit Vs Nitto 2.7 Stroker Kit?
BakemonoRicer replied to boobeedoobee's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
JUN is still miles ahead.... The kit itself has been used on a number of 8 second cars. Too bad HKS discontinued their Step 3 kit that thing was tasty as well.- 89 replies

Yeah mate...needed to change my underwear when I got home. Id eased on the brakes after seeing you go sideways....then went floating through it. Also had my rear end step out something savage after I clipped a gravel patch. Few hairy moments thats for sure. Worth it though, the conditions made for some pretty epic scenery lol -

Good cruise!!! Plenty of nice cars to look at. Snapped some photos so will upload a few tomorrow night. Went back to Sydney via the Putty with Mick which seemed like a good idea at the time. The rain ended up pelting down....plus plenty of tree branches & debris on the road etc. Pretty treacherous conditions, especially with well-worn AD08's...but was still good fun lol. Also...on the putty a bloke with a horse float almost lost it around a right hander.... and on the m4 there was a Chrysler stuck in the flooded right lane as well as a Toyota with its front end smashed in. -

[Closed] Borg Warner Efr Series Turbos
BakemonoRicer replied to Lithium's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
For an SR20DET, I want a turbo that'll perform through the mountains & on the circuit. I'm quite interested in the twin scroll EFR7064 A/R 1.05 with EWG's. A couple of questions: -Will this turbo be more responsive than a GT2871r? -Considering the A/R & footprint of the turbo, does it suit drag racing only? -How driveable will it be? I assume the EFR's have a much more savage power delivery compared to most turbos? -
Bought a Nardi wheel....350mm deep dish w/ Works Bell Short Boss + Rapfix II Kit. Decided to spice up the interior a little. Carbon bits are by Superior Auto Creative. Entered the track day at SMP South so took the car to a new workshop recommended by Mat. Great service & workmanship. Got the brake bits & nismo engine/gearbox mounts installed (the solid poly mounts I was running were too brutal, couldnt stand the vibrations & bolts kept rattling loose). Also had a wheel alignment done. The mechanic found the previous workshop had taken several shortcuts with the twin plate install (on top of the ones I mentioned) so he went about sorting the issues. Clutch feels a lot better now, but need to sort out the drivetrain as theres too much play given how aggressive the clutch is. So at the track day I clocked a 1.12 which is semi-reasonable, considering my only power mod is a full exhaust. Nontheless can still push harder so im itching to get back out there. Also managed to save a major sideways moment with Nick in the car. Finished up the track day late afternoon and the car was still in one piece - so I was happy lol.
