  1. Pretty sure it's a pull type Cal. The noise appears when the clutch is fully engaged and changing gears. When the clutch is held in for about 3 seconds or more the noise stops. Yes there is a brand new throw out bearing in the car too. A couple of people i've spoken to think it's part of the wear in stage of a clutch, and the noise should dissapear after 500-1000km. I don't think the noise has anything to do with something not being installed correctly because everything is very smooth and no problems at all.
  2. I'll probably try replace it next weekend with a mate, if you find a DIY please let me know mate. I have looked over the internet a fair bit though so unless it's been put up recently i don't think you'll have much luck
  3. Ok so i went back to the shop and got the bloke to check it out for me, he had a drive and noticed it too. It's sort of a rubbing sound when the clutch is engaged and accelerating, he thinks that it's because the Southbend clutch is a mix of copper. If you press the clutch in for longer than about 3 seconds the noise stops. Been doing research on g35driver.com about the Southbend clutch can't seem to find a great deal of information but i'll keep looking. I'll also get back in touch with Coz from ConceptZ who sold the box and clutch to me and see if he knows.
  4. Ok so i took the car back to Leon, he had a drive and he thinks it's the copper mix clutch. It makes a bit of a rubbing sound when the clutch is in changing gears. Just trying to find something on the internet with someone else having the same experience with this clutch
  5. Not just that Dave, the margin in small cars is next to 0. For instance, even the new Camry's selling at $28,990 are already in at a negative of close to a $1000 that's how competitive this industry is but Toyota is backing that customers will buy after care products, more than likely finance, and have a decent trade-in. Oh and i work for Toyota.
  6. Yep his whole garage is now a tyre shop/fitting shop haha it's hillarious. Got my new gearbox clutch and flywheel fitted yesterday, car drives great. Clutch is so much lighter compared to the old HD exedy. It's making a little bit of a grind/rubbing sound when i engage it though, could just be wearing in but i'm getting leon to check over it again today and go from there. Happy with the results though!
  7. plain t with a sau logo, then a big f *ck off picture of a GTR or something on the back maybe? Also a hoodie would be good, then i could wear it to the drags
  8. You can't go past the Corolla mate. Anything Toyota will assure a strong resale price. They are small and nimble, have all the features that you want and are cheap to maintain.
  9. deviant art watermark through the middle of it?
  10. Have you considered a Corolla? Great fuel efficiency, good reliable car. Has all the safety to match the competition. Resale value will pay you back in the long run over all the other cars you've mentioned. Yaris's are great too.
  11. Yea ok cool thanks Alex, for sure i have every intention of taking care of the new parts. I had the idea it might be air in the lines, there has been SS clutch lines installed too. Just sounds a little squishy but it doesn't feel spongy at all it's nice and smooth when i engage.
  12. OK - thought i'd post back here my results after getting the new CD009 gearbox, southbend clutch & flywheel installed. The bloke that was doing it for me had everything installed by 5:30, (gave him the car at 9am) then as he went to adjust the clutch found a problem. The pivot ball was the wrong size. The standard pivot ball from my 03 is short. The pivot balls from the 04-07 is a long version and it WILL NOT allow you to adjust the clutch correctly. The gearbox had to come out AGAIN to change the pivot ball back to the original one. Now for the positives - the CD009 gearbox feels amazing paired with Amsoil gear oil. Shifts are very smooth and easy to engage, compared to my old beat to shit gearbox. It was funny when i originally bought the car i was told it had a HD twin plate Exedy clutch, i took his word because i noticed it was quite heavy and 12 months ago i didn't know nearly as much as i do know about cars and parts... Turns out it was just a single plate HD exedy clutch and also a exedy flywheel. I have encountered a slight problem when driving it home last night and this morning to work. The clutch is making a noticeable rubbing or grinding sound when i am accelerating and changing gears. The same noise is barely noticeable when the car is at idle with the clutch in, i don't beleive it's the flywheel because that makes a different sort of chatter which i can also hear when i accelerate from a stop. But the aftermarket Southbend flywheel is steel and it actually seems to make less chatter than the standard exedy flywheel that was in it which is good. Does anyone have an idea on what this noise would be? I am taking the car back to the installer in a couple of hours so he can diagnose it but thought i'd ask the question.
  13. i took the entire trim off when i replace my window motor, the door lock is located in a stupidly tight place. Right up in the corner, it's not an easy job i haven't tried it yet but it looks tricky as hell.. that's why people opt to do the $5 fix which you can find the DIY on g35driver.com
  14. you drew that pagani zonda? farrrrk, that is impressive
  15. Sounds strange, but i have been researching for weeks trying to find a half decent video/images guide on how to replace the door lock actuator as i have a new one sitting at home but i can't manage to get my arms into the tiny space to work with it.. and i don't fancy the idea of removing the window.
  16. shit 41 already.. these really are going like hotcakes. lucky i got in early
  17. i can't fault my Achiles ATR Sports. Had them on the car since September, tread still looks the day that i put them on minus the nipples. I do alot of spirited driving, i don't break traction very often either so that's probably why. But the car is my daily, i am happy with these tyres but my next set would probably be some Federal 595's. Achiles ATR's are a noisy tyre, but i always have windows up music on and aircon so i never notice it.
  18. Jesus christ.. no thanks
  19. ME TOO THANKS TONY

  22. i thought that, just removed it.
  23. Yep, i've never spoken to him but the boys over there say he's very loud and open about his gay-ness. First time i saw it i thought the same thing, lady named gay who was born in 69 but sure enough is a very homosexual bloke..
  24. Don't bother with the dealerships, take it to Chris he knows his stuff.
