  1. Yeah last oil change i had a pissy little Ryco one and my dad thought was funny how small it was.
  2. That is impressive! I need to get around to cleaning my fuel sensor it's on empty by about 350km. The fuel light makes me nervous even though i know i'm nowhere near out.
  3. Hahah ^ I got the car out the back now with a mech from work doing a gearbox oil change for me since i'm finding it hard to get time to do some of the most basic shit. Oh and i'm also about to arrange 15% tint all round
  4. Speaking of low ballers- There was a red S15 Spec R for sale locally up here, not sure on what year/km's but it was bone stock apart from some coilovers. The seller had it up for $18,500 i know a guy, that knew a guy, that offered them $10,000 cash and they took it.. he was desperate to sell it clearly.. or it had some issues aha.
  5. That's impressive! aha I don't even trust the needle anymore, i just watch how many km's i've done and where i've been driving/how i've been driving then fill up when i deem approprite. But this time i've going to let it run to 500 then refill and see how close to empty i am then.
  6. Yeah, i was one of the first to drive one at my Dealership. Haha, well i didn't really like the power to be honest. I know they are fantastic in the corners but it just seems to be seriously lacking power. If only there was a turbo option..
  7. I work for Toyota and have worked for a few different companies and i too beleive that our finance is top notch. I barely ever lose a finance deal to the banks, they almost always fall short of our finance terms. But bear in mind, when there are ridiculously low interest rate offers there are other ways we can make money off your finance such as extended warranty, there could be a baloon payout at the end of the loan (called a risidual which is definitely not something you want to do) and other things like accessories (fusion pack- tint, paint protection, electronic rust proofing, leather care etc..)
  8. There is a sticky section on this topic- Happy New Year to you too. Engine Oil: Brand: Mobil 1 5W-30, Mobil 1 5W-30 EP*, Mobil 1 5W-30 HM**, Mobil 1 5W-30 ESP*** Amount: 5-6 quarts, get 6 to be safe – you will always be able to use it for next change, top up. Replace: Mobil 1 is good for up to 15,000miles/24,000kms but i would do it every 6-9000miles/10-15,000kms *EP = Extended Performance (better protection, longer service interval than standard) **HM = High Mileage Vehicle (for cars with engine 75,000miles/120,000km or more) ***ESP=Emission System Protection (for Euro cars, 2008+ with strict cats regulation) Oil filter: Brand: Nissan OEM or Mobil EP M1-108 Replace: Same time as oil If you can't get any of that stuff locally, go into Autobarn and use what they recommend for a 350Z. Also i just use Ryco oil filters they are tiny but do the job until the next change is needed.
  9. Of course yes, if it was a person that i had qualified right that was looking to be a "tyre kicker" i wouldn't let them touch the keys. Other buyers that i deem to be a series buyer i would let drive the car harder than normal, but i wouldn't let them thrash it and put our lives at risk.. probably shouldn't have written "hammer" in my last post
  10. That's great, i used to work for Ford in new cars and my sales manager would always say to take it easy on test drives in the GT's and GT-P's but i'd always get on the drive and let the customer hammer it.
  11. Hahah that's brilliant, can't say i've had any personal experiences like that outside of work but some of these are just hilarious
  12. Yep, that's why i'm edgy about saying what i do because everyone just thinks the worst. Especially seeing shit on ACA about the dodgy used car guys in Sydney that turn back odo clocks then run away when they get caught. Way way way off topic Dale haha
  13. How can you quote an interest rate of 20+% interest? Are you a business manager that works for Toyota? No.. in fact our interest rates 9 times out of 10 SMASH the banks. Ok $1000 for tinting is a joke, the boys out the back here charge $200 for all 4 windows dark as you want, that was 1 bad experience you had with a dealership and now you're going to tell everyone about how much of a rip off all car dealerships are.
  14. Yep, i sure do. All the sales people here know their stuff, it's a good environment. Haha yes indeed, i used to be in direct sales (selling charities in shopping centres) and that tought me so much about selling. If my customers don't leave here with a smile then i haven't done my job EVEN if they don't buy from me.
  15. I definitely agree with you on that! I just recently have been helping my partner find a used Fiesta and went into Holden. The first question the sales person asked me was "can i help you?" and obviously i replied "No just looking" (and he walked away) which is called an RDR or Reactionary Defence Responce. Basically a quick reaction a customer uses because they want to avoid the sales person. I later found out that he had been working there for close to 12 months, that poor bastard i don't know how he is still in his job when everyone would tell him to f*ck off because he doesn't know how to approach a customer correctly.. By the way the exchanges of paper is called a write up, we have to do it. But the way that he did it is atrocious lol i would have laughed at him for presenting it like that. About the trade in, yes you are correct. If it's a $1 car we will wholesale it but if the car is sell-able there is a process that the car MUST go through no matter how tidy the car is for us to warrant it. We do our own servicing when we first get the car into stock and that's usually a couple hours work depending on what needs to be done. Sometimes it's a very costly recondition (in my experience i've had gearboxes, steering racks you name it) therefore the price of the vehicle will be sold at a little extra to cover that cost. I definitely agree with you that the car sales industry is in tatters, i have had a shit load of training in my work and my monthly commission cheque has seen close to 5 figures. Sure i don't know everything about what i do but i do like to consider myself good at my job.
  16. sounds like a synchro to me, does it only happen at or over 140kmh? or is it at any speed?
  17. Ah i see, that's nuts! I just noticed that your name is toy515 so i thought it was your car lol.
  18. I sell cars, paying cash DOES NOT help the dealership at all. I make more money off finance than i do off someone giving me a bank cheque so i am more flexible with a finance deal rather than a cash deal. But in saying that, people always try to break my balls by saying shit like "give me your best price" "what's your best price" "can you email me your best price so i can go and shop you at the next dealership then i will ask you to drop the price by 5k" The average customer doesn't know how to negotiate a deal properly. Also in regards to "why do people trade cars in when you get nothing for them?" Sure, you won't get as much as you want when trading the car in but the price that i offer you is right here and right now. Whereas if you want to sell it privately for 5k more, sure go ahead put it on the side of the road for 6 months and i garauntee you it won't move.. (depending on what it is) plus the fact that i have to recondition the car and roadworthy, detail then advertise for sale THEN put warranty on the car. That makes the price difference between trading in and selling privately.
  19. I do mostly city driving, so i should be letting the car do 500km before refuelling. I always use vortex 98 too
  20. So for the last few months i've been filling up at around 300km. I have an Injen CAI and no other engine mods. I just filled up then and my needle was just above empty (i do realise that the needle is a little incorrect) I filled up the tank today at 287KM and my car took 41L of fuel, i know the tank holds 80L but i have never driven the car to completely empty, in fact i don't think i've even done over 400km to the tank.. I feel so stupid because i've been filling up way before necessary, with the driving i do i should theoretically be getting close to 500KM to a tank. Facepalm.
  21. A fair few people swap to the 350Z springs for a mild drop and a cheaper alternative too.
  22. So Chris can you just let me know what exactly the Regulator does? Need to know because if i replace my window motors i would like to be sure that it would solve my "auto" up and down feature of my drivers side because that's stopped working
  23. Off topic but would this happen to be your S15 you are selling? http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/nissan-silvia-1999-13706020?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=63&page=6&eapi=2&__N=1246%201252%201247%201282%201216&num=15&silo=Stock&items=%5bMake%3aNISSAN%2cModel%3aSILVIA%2cSeries%3aS15%5d&sort=default I have that link saved to my favourites on my work computer, simply because i LOVE looking at it. Such a beautiful car, if i wasn't on my P's i would love to own it.
  24. LOL $2500 that is insane. I got quoted from Peter who works for RDA $900 for a FULL set of slotted and dimpled rotors WITH EBC red stuff pads x4.. Nissan is making 200% profit as usual
