  1. @Gts-t what did you have blocking the holes left over from the 4WD parts? Looks like frost plugs but I could be wrong. I'll be doing the same myself soon and yours looks really neat.
  2. Josh, man, can you give me some kind of a response please?
  3. Did you see my PM? I'm looking to buy this as soon as.
  4. That's a very valid point Sick! I'll see if I can find a complete setup to get some measurements from. Cheers for the replies anyway.
  5. Given the info in this thread.... https://www.driftworks.com/forum/threads/the-definitive-nissan-crossmember-thread.243198/ Specifically: The key differences are that when compared to the standard SR crossmember, -R33 crossmember mounts are 125mm further forward and 9mm lower as well as being roughly 15° -R32 crossmember mounts are 125mm further forward and 5.5mm higher and are approximately the same 53° Would the lower engine mount height not help with the engine position and weight distribution?
  6. R33 front subframe in R32 Has anyone bothered to swap the front subframes when carrying out an RB25 swap in an R32? Are there any known benefits in regards to engine position?
  7. What are you running in terms of cams and springs? What's your engine normally put through, street/drift/drag.....
  8. This is exactly what I wanted to know. Been hearing to many "oh yeah, a mate's brother's girlfriend's cousin once had the shim fly out and kill a baby" stories. I'm planning on getting the Tomei Poncam Type B cams. "PONCam Set Type-B, Exhaust Duration: 260, Exhaust Lift: 9.15mm, Intake Duration: 260, Intake Lift: 9.15mm" I can't see those being too aggressive since Tomei list them as "drop in".
  9. I haven't been able to find any definite answers on this one........are people aware of any issues with the Neo valvetrain design of shim-on-bucket for drag/drift purposes? In terms of 2 step/launch control or hitting the limiter. I know the JZ folks change to a solid lifter setup but I haven't been able to find any info on something similar for the Neo engine.
  10. Can someone with an RB25, minus the head, measure the piston crown to deck clearance for me please? Or if someone knows this from memory? Also the piston measurement above top ring land please?
  11. The one circled in red above. I've contacted HKS and they are unable to match it to any part numbers they have listed. Does anyone have any other ideas about where one can be picked up or have one buried in a drawer somewhere?

  13. Thanks for the replies guys. Keeping the valve in place is no issue, TDC and an air compressor will work perfectly. You can also feed some rope into the bore to fill up the empty space if needed. Removing the Valve Springs is not so much the issue, but fitting the new stronger Springs will be. Especially when trying with the "Hammer" style i.e. Trying to push the stronger Springs down by had with that ^^^ will be a pain in the arse!
  14. Has anyone used these to remove valve springs while the head is still on the engine, or does anyone have any recommendations for a tool?
  15. I'm looking to confirm the coil bind and standard installed heights of OEM RB26 valve springs and OEM RB25DE valve springs. From what I have been able to measure myself; RB26 coil bind height is somewhere between 26-27mm, installed height I have as 35mm. But this doesn't make sense if the standard cams have an 8.58mm lift. I'd expect a safety clearance of 1.5mm anyway. RB25de coil bind height is about 24mm and installed height is 35mm again. The standard cams have a 7.8mm lift which gives plenty of safety margin. Can anyone help to confirm the measurements please?
  16. Has anyone had any experience of any Drift Schools in or around Sydney? My brother is living out there and his birthday is coming up so I'd like to get him an experience day. I'd appreciate any of yer input so I'm not paying money for some rubbish day that he only drives for 2 minutes.
  17. The ones from the R31, finned type. Anyone got some?? Can be shipped to Sydney or the UK, depending on whichever is do-able.
  18. The block and head have been checked and are flat from all angles that we tried. All the standard gasket material has been cleaned off so I'm happy it will seal. Im still trying to work out what CR i will end up with from either a 1.1mm or 1.5mm gasket though. Can anyone tell me what the piston dome volume for a standard RB26 piston is? Ive also got a piston crown to deck measurement of 3.7mm, is this common? Thanks for taking the time to respond lads.
  19. Ive actually got a 1.1 headgasket already but wanted to be sure it would suit. What effect will what ive done have on the squish/quench area?
  20. Forgot to add it'll be running a pair of HKS 264 8.5 lift cams also.
  21. Hey folks, I've tried using an online compression ratio calculator to work out what headgasket thickness I should be going for but its not making any sense (probably my stupidity). The basic spec of the build is as follows: R32 Rb25DE with HKS2535/GTX3071 hybrid GTR crank, rods and pistons Nothing skimmed I'm aiming for a massively responsive 450 on pump fuel. Can anyone advise what gasket thickness to go for or at least what CR I'd get with this set up on a standard head gasket so I can work it out? Cheers.
