Maybe he means less desireable in terms of looks?

Most people don't necessarily buy R33s because they think they look better, you'll find most people like the look of R32s and R34s. But when talking about the GTST/GT-T market, its hard to go past the R33. Unlike the R32, its RB25 equiped, more spacious also its almost as good as an R34 and much cheaper. So the most pracitcal/cost efficient choice becomes the R33, hence their popularity.

Yer spot on... I preferred the look of the 32 and 34 over the 33. But I was happy to settle for a 33 which has more to offer in other areas.

I think you have come one step closer to deciphering the ultimate question of some 32 drivers: "WHY would you buy one of those TAXIS!?"

driving a 33 is more about the wank factor that "i drive a skyline"

i used to get the whole "race my skyline its the fastest" when i drove the gti-r..

after about 15m you never herd from them again.

but i guess that would be also generalizing them right?

on the other note. i would just say that there are too many of them out there. and too many people tyring to do the same thing. and also because of these new rules there seems to be a cutdown of younger "hoons" and their ease of getting into a car thats quicker than "billy's" commodore.

there definatly is a wank factor with most people deciding to buy skylines, but for some it purely is performance. for some its a bit of both. it's the majority spoiling it for the minority. people just wanna look cool driving about, its nothing new the yanks were doing it since the fifties.

still, that dosent just apply to skylines, s13's, 300zx's, supra's, even commodores suffer the posing factor.

posing wouldnt be such a bad thing if it didnt involve the usual challanges, slagging of other peoples cars and the general 'act like a tool' culture that goes with it.

prolly just as many if not more 32's....its not our fault they dont stand out :(

some kind of puke factor??

:P

haha f**k i'm going to stop.

my comment made before was probably not called for. but its the same across the board with every car. there are always going to be dickheads involved..

i.e. look at me.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

To me that means an R-32 - to others an R-33 - whatever floats your boat.

Just don't slag somebody else for their tastes (sounds utopian doesn't it ;-)

np mate, it was all in fun...im sure even you can appreciate a nice 33...i really dont like 32's, mainly the rear, but when i see 1 that i like i can still say "ooo nice 32..."

:P

lol me either, and i hate the rear of 32s as well.

as a matter of fact, R32s have become a new generation of posing cars coz somehow everyone thinks a R32 goes faster than a R33. and thats y they are so popular nowadays.

back to topic, skylines have created a very bad public impression 'skylines=hoons'. so ppl are trying to stay away from them. eventually ppl will realise how good they are.

imo, commonwhores are more likely to be hoons than skylines...

    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
