I posted your VIN and got the following reply from the FAST software. It confirms your car was originally a GTS (non turbo).

If you are happy with a brake upgrade from the yard, and everything else checks out OK, no worries.

If they advertised the car as a GTSt (turbo) you are probably entitled to a refund (regardless of weather they were aware or not) as they falsely represented the vehicle.

Can anyone else confirm differences between the GTS and GTSt i.e. transmission, diff, brakes (anything else)

Yup pretty sure there are differences, brakes (as mentioned), diff (pretty sure its an open wheeler not a viscous as in the turbo models), don't know about gearbox, but if they changed motor's then they might've bought a complete engine package and changed that all over at the same time..

But all in all nice looking ride, where abouts in Whyalla are you situated?? My mum and little bro lives up there, little bro works @ Bridgestone and mum works in one steel....

thanks mate, was trying to tell my self it was a genuine, but all the clues add up, brakes and hubs, no boost in the dash, guess thats why it has a after market fuel pump, i think the diff is a one wheel r, not100% will go out tonight and check,

just cant work out the engine tho, regency doesnt have any records of a change, told me engine all matches up, only thing i can come up with is that is is a non turbo engine just with the turbo gear on it, maniflod turbo etc. are they much different. bloody hell. give me the shits a bit, but i do like the car.

If the conversion was done in Japan, Regency wouldnt be aware that in a past life it had a different motor.

I hope they havn't just bolted a turbo on a NA motor, if they did it will be short lived (but a nice ride for the short time).

Get it checked out by someone who knows Skylines.

Good work for ringing straight away :) When we asked to get things fixed they said they had to wait for their mechanic to come back from some place i never heard of <_< . Then they gave me some address to get the stereo replaced..went to the place...it was a broken down house! So i decided to do the stereo myself.

In short, some of the issues with mine (whcih somehow went through regency before they sold it to me) include -> All Suspension was mixed up, front shockers were on the rears, with the top part of the front shockers somehow being cut through via the car's body (i can draw it, not the best on the technicalities however). The heavy duty clutch HAD to be replaced..the guy said 'what wrong with it?...' :) I was like looking at the revs go up but no movement.... :P Then the rear disc rotors were just a luaghing joke, where they accidentally put new front ones on (no complaint from me on that one), then did the rears another week later). These were the main issues. There were other little ones but nothing big.

So when you get a hold of them next, don't let then go until they've done it!

yer im pretty happy with the car other than the fact its a non turbo from factory, it still has all the features, if they are willing to replace all the brakes and hubs, with proper turbo set up, and give me my cash back i just wasted in buying the 4 studd rims and tyres, my main concern is the motor, is it a genuine turbo motor which was changed before coming to australia, making the engine ok with regecy now, or have all they done is put a turbo on this motor, maybe a thick gasket to help or something, but u wouldnt think a stock motor would last to long would it, its only running 7psi.

Brett Elliott, he's the one who'll talk your ear off when you go in there....Drives an R31 skyline with SR S13 rims on, some 250cc 2 stroke bike on his l's and used to ride a nifty 50 everywhere doing mono's, but has had to stop riding it before he looses his licence...

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
