Tomei Cams - 260 degrees x 9.15 lift:

Australia:

As New:

Change of mind:

$700.00 plus freight:

These are Spec B cams and were purchased from Japan and have seen little work. They are for the R34 GTT. Will suit the RB25 DET (NEO) engine. I am prepared to trade for a set of the Tomei Spec A cams with a cash adjustment (either way):

Hey Muz.

Just curios why you want to change to Spec A?

What supporting mods would you have been putting with the cams?

Hey Bass,

I have all the usual mods and had bought these cams thinking I might go for a larger turbo but have since changed my mind and will go with a high flow (like you and Adam). After reading Adam's (Abo BOB) thread on here, I figure that the Spec A cams will be enough and still leave me with the very sweet idle I have at present.

Is this line of thought correct? Happy to be told otherwise.

Engine Mods: LARGE ARE intercooler. Z32 AFM, PFC, Nismo fuel pump, Nismo fuel reg, Nismo 480cc injectors, Nismo Twin Plate Clutch, Nismo 3.5 inch exhaust system, Nismo Timing Belt, Apexi Air intake, HKS Oil cooler. Some of this stuff is still waiting to go on (italics) and is just sitting in boxes on the garage work bench.

Almost forgot to mention the crowning engine bay improvement piece .... A genuine BASSJUNKY Radiator Air Flow Guide. :(

Happy to continue the discussion.

Cheers

That Radiator guide is good for at least 50rwkw. Why do you wven need cams?? :)

Well, my cam idles now at about 950rpm, sounds angry at the moment because of the turbo and dump pipe I had put on, so I'm getting it quietened down via a new read muffler this week. the Idle is smooth enougt I guess. It's sure as hell not a stock sounding idle, but it doesn't rattle or burble like a big V8 does with bumpsticks.

I'm super keen to see your power/torque/boost graph when you get it.

I think maybe you will make similar power, but maybe earlier and not hold it for as long as mine does (our to 7800rpm). Iff only it was as easy as swapping cams I'd do the exercise myself!!

On the freeway it's fairly inefficient. at 3100rpm, that's when she's most confortable crusing, but seeing as there aren't any 120 limited roads in Melbourne, it's a bit of a pain. Hopefully the Step A will be more efficient at lower revs.

BASS OUT

Thanks Bass,

Looks like I might have sold the cams to a guy in Germany as no realistic takers here in Oz. I'll post the graphs when I get it all done. Now to find a set of Spec A's.

Cheers and thanks

LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
