http://videos.streetfire.net/video/BAC0B0F...0B297B03720.htm

looking at the video , i noticed that on two corners the car was a gear down on when we were there last time, so car the car should do a great time on a completely dry track with some temp.

was good to meet you guys and next i be there the night before fo a drink.

cheers russ

F*CK me DEAD RUSS!!!!!!!

I didnt even realise the clutch was used on the up-shifts... from trackside it didnt sound like it at all.

Hats off to Mark and yourself... i cant get over how quick and precise the gear changes are!

Top work indeed

Great work Russ/Mark. Your car was working sweet. I'm a bit bummed about all my drama's but I don't reckon I'd have got you guys anyways. It's pretty hard to gauge how quick the car could have been given I did the 1.07.8 with the stuffed shock and low boost but I'm not sure I could have got down to a low 1.06 even with the car spot on.

By the time we got home we noticed the other rear shock was gone too and another of the tyres was flat! It just wasn't my event.

Loved the track however - it really is a drivers track - so I'll be keen to come back again and I'll try and bring some more competition too.

thanks guys,

Mark is a good steerer.

the car is heaps of fun to drive, really addictive! mind you a bit out of control in the wet at speed.

yeah bit of a bummer alright, Andrew i'm sure your beast would be right there.

cheers Russ

tops weekend!!!

we want more vids and pics!

well done russ - that lap was good stuff!

:(

Giant top vid and that gear box is the bomb. It was mostly dry when your car ran but top driving and top time even though got a little ugly one two spots so more in it. Would love to put this vid on our website??

PS Your carbon air guide has arrived.

Hey its not so much that its just a close ration gear box - the 4.3 diffs are helping a lot as well.

My order is now in for some 4.11's.

It is a DOG BOX, no clutch on changing up so much faster chaing up and a bit faster down also saves a second or two overall or more on most tracks.

thanks again guys

yes it was mostly dry but there is definately more time to be had as there wasnt a great deal of grip and no temp at all. A 1.05 is coming, the car was literally a gear down in two spots, 2nd instead of 3rd on turn two & the run down to the hairpin & slow onto the mainstraight & out of shape.

no probs putting the video up to J.P, & thanks please send the air guide!!

cheers Russ

the dog box is fantastic,

we never change gears without the clutch though as the video shows, i want some life out of the dogs.

also the change from 4.11's to 4.3's(gts4) didnt have the effect we would have liked (wouldnt do it again). not enough of a change shouldve been 4.5's for tracks & motorkhanas, but also hurts time on the strip.

I run a R32 GTR Nismo diff centre with R32 GTS-4 crown and pinion 4.375 and NO front diff and a little peaky and traction probs and when she goes I think I will go to a 4.1. GTR with no front diff is NO WHERE.

By the way Jeff the manager from Oran Park was telling me yesterday day they are drumming up a Time Attack event later this year and my use the short tight north circuit or otherwise south. Only problem is it may not be just jap cars and Porsches come we are no where. Such as well set up GT3 Carrera cup although they may be in different category but still not as good being second fiddle. If tight north circuit a rexy or EVO would be looking good. Eastern Creek Zed would be right in there although won't happen as no good for veiwing and COST plenty.

    • When you crank your car, and hit it with a timing light, can you see a steady crank timing?
    • Oh, forgot to add, A few months ago I was getting mixture codes and the car was using crap loads of fuel. You could smell the unburned fuel in the exhaust, it was crazy strong. Economy was over 17.5 l/100 and usually around 19. I smoked the engine and found a leaky CCV hose which I replaced and then I replaced my two pre cat O2 sensors, I also replaced the MAF. This fixed my mixture codes and improved my exonomy but I'm still 14 - 15 l/100 when pottering about town so something is still amiss. Throttle response is much better and it has more pep but I'd like to know why it's still so thirsty (and I'm hoping that whatever it is gives me a bit more poke).
    • Car is on factory injectors/z32 maf/ q45 throttle body/ z32 ecu with nistune
    • Hello all, currently finishing up a rb25 swap into my s14. Having issues with starting, car has spark (confirmed by pulling a plug and watching it spark), has fuel(confirmed by checking pulse/voltage at injectors all spark plugs are soaked in fuel). Car cranks over and pops into the exhaust with a heavy fuel smell but no attempt to start or run, I have torn the timing cover off and triple confirmed timing, turned the CAS in multiple spots both directions, attempted to start with coolant temp and maf unplugged, checked my fuel lines and made sure they weren’t backwards, checked voltage at cas/injectors/coilpacks, made sure all the grounds in the harness are connected and added a few grounding straps (1 from chassis to block, 1 from chassis to head, and 1 from chassis to igniter chip) I am getting stumped here. As a last ditch effort I made a full grounding harness tonight that’s going to run from the battery and add an extra ground from the battery onto the coil pack harness/igniter chip/ intake manifold/ Wiring specialties harness ground/ and alternator. I’m hoping maybe the grounding harness will fix it here but posting here to see if anyone has any other ideas on what else I can check. My fuel pressure is unknown right gauge will be here tomorrow.  IMG_3206.mov
    • yeah I was shocked when I checked my spare OEM on and as below that's how they come from Nissan. (side interesting note new NEO gearbox and replacement park lack the brass bush on the tips and its just all alloy) unsure about damage to the box currently back at 1110 to be pulled down/inspected and selector fork replaced as he built it previously and given the never before seen failure on his billet forks he is replacing it under warranty. He said he has used always OEM the keyway tab without issue for years so it could be an unlucky coincidence. I did talk to him about the sharp corners and stress concentration too. Re: hard shifts i got 7+ years out of the OEM one and the fork itself failed not the keyway. so could be bad luck as I said or an age thing + heat cycles in box and during fabrication of billet?
