Hey Bris,

Since you seem to know so much baout this car - how does it stack up against say Benno's or Sams?

BTW - Russ - you know about the Nov NSW excursion right? John (UAS) said he spoke to you about it and it would be awesome if you guys can make it down too.

I don tknow that much at all about the car. Liek i said only what i have seen in adverts here and there and years ago when the owner was talking about it on SDU. So dont really know how it compares to Sam or Ben's car.

Though i suspect it would be more Sams car then Bens, because of the weight of the thing...but really who knows?????

I KNOW its quicker then my car

oh and its faster than mine too! it doesnt go at all at the moment!! ;)

Neither does mine...first my car looked like this...

Then i hit something on the track...

Then a lap later the gods caught up with me when that damn cat told them who did it...

Which up close looked like this...

But JAG33 came dot my rescue...

462Towie.jpeg

So after fixing it i thrashed it around for while, was within a second of Snowman around Sandown the one session we did together...then parked it for a paint job which is about done.

I repeat, for the record...Sandown Sprint Session Three. The only time we have been in a Super Sprint together.

Lap 1

Bobo the Snowclown - 1:31.0100

Roy - 1:31.8900

Just warming up.

Lap 2

Bobo the Snowclown - 1:25.8500

Roy - 1:25.5800

Would have gone quicker but 1600kgs of steaming blue sh1t was blocking the track in front of me.

Lap 3

Bobo the Snowclown - 1:23.8200

Roy - Spun at Turn 4, but my Data Logger had me 0.4sec quicker then my best to that corner. I only spun because of the road block's corner speed was so slow that i almost t-boned it mid corner :D

How much power does your car have Bobo? How many times have you driven around Sandown Bobo? ... that was about my 10-11th lap in the dry.... :(

I would stop putting sh1t on my car as the fact that you are not really that much quicker then me in my POS, suggests something about someones ability to drive his finger up a dogs ass

Perhaps Bobos car is has never recovered from its stage fright either. I should mention my car isnt as pretty as yours either so dont have so many ppl willign to help push it

LOL... i miss all the smack talk on the Autosport site  Ive got nothing except personal attacks on a bloke who drivers circles around me :O

The top few inches of the guards and doors are painted gunmetal grey to match the stock colour of my car so you could either veeery carefully sand it back or paint the same section to match your car.

Just weighed them, bonnet is about 7kg (stock gtr ~10kg?), doors 17kg ea (stock ~30kg) and guards 1.2kg ea (stock gtr ~2.Xkg). That's with all electrics, hinges, handle, window, motors, speaker etc so i imagine you'd knock off a fair bit with an acrylic window.

you have pm neil

Fire started when the heater hose into the firewall split and sprayed a mist of glycol ethanol over the glowing red exhaust housing/manifold...the stuff is flammable when in a 5% mist with atmosphere, and is preheated above 90 deg C. LOL a few things had to happen for it to ignite, if it happened a lap earlier or on the street it would have been just a coolant leak. It just happens the split was fine and the coolant temp was about 94 when it split.

I now run sheathing on the line to protect it from the heat

Ill ask what the PM is probaby about ;) How much do you want for the doors?

    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
    • 310mm rotors will be avilable from Australia, Japan, and probably a few other places. Nothing for the front can be put on the back.
    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
