yeah the brickies labour stereotype is old

brickies labs earn around $750+ a week

brickies earn $2 per brick - which is shit loads when u think about it

cant remember who said it but an idiot is always an idiot no matter what car u put them in

The only "really bad" driving I've seen from a commo was a VK that must have had next to no tread on his tyres, some dude who must have been over 30 & his mate were "trying" to show off to a p-plate chick in a Liberty, driving like a tool so I came up behind him, he takes off & gets to about 100 & starts losing the rear end so he backed off.

Then at the lights at ocean reef heading onto the freeway was next to the liberty again, decided to get his tail out towards her, an absolute tool & he nearly hit her car.

Freeway = chopped, me & her. :P Apart from that I haven't seen anything bad, just a few dudes recently who don't realise I've got 350 lurking under the bonnet when they move towards me & away again driving alongside me.......

Where is Hepburn one lane? :domokun:

east of wanneroo road

commodore-commonwhore

they are as common as cars get in Aus and so they want to stand out

but they're heavy and have shit suspension and non LS Diffs so hanging it sideways in a commodore quite offten quickly turns to crap

yer commodore drivers could say much the same about skyline drivers being morons when they drive :geek:

people will hoon and do stupid shit like that no matter wat they're driving.... its just that commodores are commonwhores and are pretty cheap to buy.. you see just as much shit with people in falcons

true, but there is just something about the commonwhore driver that irks every skyline driver

but also there is something about falcons - maybe im just sympathetic to them

(i just want my old man to buy a territory turbo ghia when they come out - mmmmm very nice :happy::laugh::P )

its not the car but the driver.

i just witness 2 dickheads. one was in a wrx and the other in an mr2.

the wrx comes flying past me at i say 140+ then an mr2 catchs up to the wrx and they drag off at the lights.. all out 1st,2nd and 3rd gear no stop....

atlest 140Km/hr+ in a 70zone on DD very smart ...

Welcome to the world of dickheads. Put a dickhead in anycar, and he'll think it's a Ferarri/Porsche/Lambo. Then again, even dickheads drive enzos. http://www.wreckedexotics.com/special/enzo/.

But i don't know if anyone will agree with me... but sometime or another, we do have to go through the dickhead stage of driving. I was there once, untill ermmm.... See below.....

Being young and dumb, i thought i was the best estimater in the world... so when i saw space to cut left...albeit small, but there was space... and no way the lorry could accelerate fast enough.... i cut in ... and my spare wheel scraped a lorry on the highway at 70km/hr and i went into the railings. I heard the lorry drop gear to accelerate when i signaled and he didn't bother to stop after the accident, he just ran away. Too much in shock to get the lisc plate number. 20grand worth of repairs. This happened back home. Oh wells. I almost never speed on public roads, can't afford a fine. LoL

P/s: Pple back home drive like that. If u signal, 80% of the time they'll speed up to prevent u from cutting. It's a bitch.

Unfortunetly i have to totally agree, commo drivers think they are the ducks nuts, i see so many como drivers thinking they are hot shit when they aren't, there inpatient, cocky and just total no alls, como's are so much better then turbos evryone, so what are we doing better go buy one...... and when they pass a turbo car (yes not just skylines) they think that they have to prove a point or something when we are just simply minding our own business...... don't know how many times i've driven normal and had a cocky como driver pull up or fly pass, it's apthetic, and seriously you'll see more como drivers thinking they are cocky toward a turbo, before you'd see a turbo snobbing off the como and being cocky, (but that's probably because they're no compettion) i'd just like to see some justice, so pay back, so whipping ass of these como drivers, and yes put any driver in any car and they can be dicks, but notice how it's alot more como drivers everyday, i don't think they could drive normal for five minutes even if some brickie paid them......

and correct me if i'm wrong but people saying when they saw cocky como drivers, were you doing anything cocky, cause no doubt you weren't and they just had to have the spot light on them while they made complete dicks out of themselves....

I used to drive commondoors, V8 ones. I didn't have this 'attitude'. The 'attitude' belongs to the person behind the wheel. This 'attitude' in my opinion is definately more common to skyline owners these days than it was. The half a dozen idiot R33 skyline drivers who go through the round about next to my place every day at twice the speed limit reminds me of this fact. Oh and then theres the plentiful supply of wrecked insurance auction skylines that come up every week.

time for us skyline owners 'to get over ourselves' before we become the arrogent stuck up fools we pretend we aren't.

skyline drivers arent the best drivers in the world either, the only reason why u probably notice the commodore drivers more is cos they r one of the most bought cars in aus so there is an absolute shitload of them and fords in comparison to other cars, and also most of the older commodores are more affordable to young kids for their first car and to people who dont have alot of money.

i think its pathetic everyone is having a whinge about a particular type of car/people who drive that car. like its been said a few times in this thread, bad drivers come in all different makes of cars.

i drive a commodore/calais and i have no idea what you're on about...

i reacon the turbo cars vs ford/holden arguements are just rediculous. ive seen so many of the arguements and they all get no where.

example: say we look at people under 25 driving either an import or a commodore... id say the percentage of tools driving either is the same... its just that theres more commodores than imports and thats why you may see more commodore drivers being tools

ps i laughed when i read this.....

I had my licence for 1 months when i went through a light doing 90km in a 60km zone

I see your point & agree, but I personally posted in this thread because when I am driving, it's not the speeding dickheads I'm referring too, it's the fact that 90% of the time someone in a commodore will drive like a tool around me, trying to prove, erm, somehow, he has a better car than me. Not bad, considering it's mostly stock as cars doing it.

My car has more than enough power to chop all of them, but I don't need to go out every day & prove it.

Wow I'm now totally converted to this idea with the powerfull and well reasoned arguments put forward by the brighter stars amongst us on the forum. Lets judge people by what car they drive, it makes so much sense to me now.

Lets start every conversation with " do you drive a commodore?" followed by " does any blood relative drive one?"(you never know they might be genetically infected with stupidity).

I know I'm infected since I have driven commodores, stupid is my new middle name!.....But, hang on I'm driving a skyline...... Wait a minute thats how it all works then a skyline driver is the progression of the commodore driver and hence is even more stupid since the disease has had greater time to effect them, it even seems to add denial to the symptoms!

    • But first....while I was there, I also swapped across the centre console box for the other style where the AV inputs don't intrude into the (very limited !) space.  Part# was 96926-4GA0A, 284H3-4GA0B, 284H3-4GA0A. (I've already swapped the top 12v socket for a USB bulkhead in this pic, it fit the hole without modification:) Basically to do the console you need to remove the DS and PS side console trim (they slide up and back, held in by clips only) Then remove the back half of the console top trim with the cupholders, pops up, all clips again but be careful at the front as it is pretty flimsy. Then slide the shifter boot down, remove the spring clip, loose it forever somewhere in the car the pull the shift knob off. Remove the tiny plastic piece on DS near "P" and use something thin and long (most screwdrivers won't fit) to push down the interlock and put the shifter down in D for space. There is one screw at the front, then the shifter surround and ashtray lift up. There are 3 or 4 plugs underneath and it is off. Next is the rear cover of the centre console; you need to open the console lid, pop off the trim covering the lid hinge and undo the 2rd screw from the driver's side (the rest all need to come out later so you can do them all now and remove the lid) Then the rear cover unclips (6 clips), start at the top with a trim tool pulling backwards. Once it is off there are 2 screws facing rearwards to remove (need a short phillips for these) and you are done with the rear of the console. There are 4 plugs at the A/V box to unclip Then there are 2 screws at the front of the console, and 2 clips (pull up and back) and the console will come out.
    • So, a bit of a side trip, but one that might be interesting for people with JDM cars and japanese head units. I know @Pac previously posted about a carplay/android auto adapter he installed which used the AUX input, and @V35_Paul put in one of the Tesla style units that replace both screens. The option I went with was a Lsait LLT-YF-VER5.87_2 (https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Lsailt-8GB-Android-Multimedia-Interface-for_1601187633672.html). Price was $1,150 for a single unit although they are much cheaper if you are willing to buy 2....$857ea. Make you you get the version 2 not version 1, it is faster and has a better UI - this is the manufacturer listing: http://www.lsailt.com/product/348.html. BTW if you've never bought from Alibaba before, don't be concerned....these guys can't stay in business unless they are responsive, ship fast etc, they were excellent (probably faster shipping than most local places) So, this was my task for a lazy Sat afternoon....looks complex but was all done in a few hours (it probably helps that I had some of it apart before so it was a bit familiar). I also decided to add a HD USB drive recorded at the same time and the unit also supports an aftermarket reverse cam (if you don't want to retain factory) and also AV in and HDMI out It looks much worse than it is, in fact in was genuinely all plug and play (no custom wiring at all). This video was pretty good (skipped a few steps), unfortunately they are an Aussie seller but no longer sell this unit (I guess Carplay/AA adapters are easier to install and much cheaper) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5hJfYOB8Dg
    • That still isn't a lot to go on. I don't have a Y50 Fuga Head Unit wiring diagram. I can say that a lot of nissans of that age shared head unit plugs, so if you are in Australia something like this would probably help: https://aerpro.com/app091# You plug that into the car loom, then either plug the head unit ISO into that (if it has ISO), or you buy and ISO adapter harness that you wire in. Bit of stuffing around, but once you have ISO its easy to change things in future.
    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
