Just want to post about my results after the install. It was a justjap Type 1 R33 kit

Mr_G did a great job installing it and took 3.5 hours flat. he even put my stock bov back on, what a champ.

Just got back from driving it, testing on full boost for short periods, after 120kms no hoses have flown off.

Some things I've noticed is boost maxes out at around 9, maybe a bit over where it used to be 10 (on the turbotech bleed valve)

When driving normally the car doesnt feel much different, dont even feel any lagier. Except I can't take off in 2nd gear anymore, thats when I feel the lag, used to do that when I'm lazy hehe

Its when driving hard that I notice it going to redline more easily

Also without my bov it sounds alot different. It sounds kind of like wooooosh-Sheeeeee, using the stock bov

Anyway I'm very happy with the install

The metal bar behind the bumper was cut, 3" hole under the washer bottle and fan fins trimmed

Highly recommend Mr_G :P

If you want to buy my old bov, look here. Thorpe says its fully sick.

Gengis:

Glad to hear your happy with the install. I actually saw you driving through Auburn crossing Parramatta rd around 7:30 yesterday evening as I was in a mates car on the way home after dropping mine off to get re-tuned.

The FMIC looks good, and your bar is pretty stealth in terms of hiding hte FMIC abit... hehe.. :)

^^ No worries, let me know whenever, my hours are pretty flexible as im a uni student so during the week I usually have a few hours to spare here and there...

Gengis: Didnt see the supra... Also the picture of the car in the shade with the cooler behind the bar, the cooler looks quite straight in that pic to be honest. I dont think its wonky by that much in terms of your front bar sitting against how the core looks.

^^ Very small world, I was in my friends Series 2 (Silver) stock stock looking...

Who knows, might see you when I go to collect the car on monday? LOL... Car looked nice cruising along

heheh that would be me in the stock lookin s2.. hmm come on its not that stock lookin is it.. hmm would anyone like to donate some buddy P1s to make my car look better..

yup Mr_G does a superb job.. have seen him do it on other cars.. great pics as well.. enjoy the car!!

Now, you just need to cut out some of that front bar to allow a tad more air flow to the core... :( and allow some air through to your radiator, and surely the FMIC may be blocking a large amount of what was coming through??

Cheers Sid

Quickblade : I kind of like it how it is now, understated and not fully exposed. Thought about the radiator thing too especially with the radiator fan being trimmed, but I've kept an eye on the temp gauge and it hasn't really been any different than before (needle still a bit below half way)

Its still running the stock turbo pushed to 11psi anyway so the airflow to the intercooler isnt a big issue (I hope!) :)

^^ I like the installs, there fun!

As for airflow Gengis, your definately getting a huge amount more airflow than what the sidemount was getting!

With the fanblades being trimmed, ive ran my car like that for a year and abit now and no dramas with the water temp. If anything, my freinds car that runs a thermo fan rather than an engine driven one hits higher water temps than mine!!

Mine survived easily on that New years day of 40 deg +!!!

    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
