Yeah i had the same problem.

Im going to find a cheap(er) twin second hand, osgiken or the like, and then use it until it needs a service then get it back to new. should buy me some time.

But at the end of the day i guess you look at your car and say i want x amount of power, what clutch is up to the task.

rob,

You have the same clutch plate as mine. They need to have a 'bedding in' period. I have no shudder at all, I can take off from idle in 2nd gear without kangaroo hop. You do have a very agressive 2500lb pressure plate tho, makes trying to slip the clutch a bit of an effort over stock.

The pressure plate is something you don't have to go othe top with and in return you get a very stock feel to your clutch, with great grab.

'bedding in' only takes a hundred k's or so. It involves slipping the clutch with a few more revs than normal and not giving it any boot fulls until its done.

If you give it heaps before hand it may take little 'chunks' of material out of the disc.

Yeah he is!!!! My skyline is going in on thursday.... I think Troy is putting his in early next week!!!!

Hehe Ross has soo many cars that he is starting to mix them up :D ... If I played my cards right I could have got Troys flywheel I reckon :)

grrrrrrrrrr

cheeky bugger

yeah mines in on tuesday, i could of done it this week but his install guys father died yesterday so to be on the safe side we went for next week.

$760 to install, my flywheel, 2500lb pressure plate and the 9 button purple clutch plate.

Good price Troy, I think SAU must be sending plenty of work his way, people blowing clutches left and right. Could you ask him if he has any plans to make twin-plate clutches, I think there would be a big demand for them, cause even the 2500lb clutches don't survive big power.

See'ya:burnout:

skyzerr33,

Are you sure you want the 2500lb pressure plate?I'm pretty sure He does a 2200lb which is significantly lighter. Even a 2000lb would be good.

The 2500lb is a leg breaker if you are not used to them. And it's quite a bit of overkill clamp wise.

I agree. I have the 2500pound pressure plate and the thing is a bitch to drive in peak hour traffic. You *have* to rev to about 1500-2000rpm and slide the clutch out (makes hill starts a pain too), otherwise you'll get shudder and the car will bunny hop along. I dont think rev gets this, he has the same 9 finger/puck clutch but a smaller pressure plate.

Don't worry.... I wouldn't do that to ya :(

He told me about the mechanic's father also. I fully understand why he won't be in this week but I am taking it to him this thursday still and he said a workshop two building's down can take the clutch out and put it back in and he can still do the clutch work himself. He seemed pretty confident that I would still receive the same worksmanship though. I didn't find out if it is going to cost any extra due to a third party though. I hope not as I only have just enough to do the clutch as is...

I'm pretty sure I am getting the same 9 button purple clutch plate as you too...

    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.
    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
