bad luck stan. hope it gets sorted champ.

i reckon we should take it into our own hands and park a skyline in a dark corner, wait for these little c**ts that are braking into them, wait for them to make a move on the car, jump out and obtain them, turn them in after making them a bit sore....

im in.

Sorry to hear about it stan.. in my eyes your lucky that they weren't professionals..

what would you rather - a broken window.. or your whole car gone being stripped..

just a reminder to people.. keep the interior of your car clean, pull off the stereo faceplate, put it in the glove box.. hopefully this will stop giving people a reason for doing this shit..

very f**ked up.. hope you get all the replacement parts ok..

Have a chat to centre management and see if you can have a look at the security camera footage around the time it would have happened. Here at my local westfield they have some cameras in the carparks to monitor traffic movements but theres nothing to say they havent caught the theif walking through the carpark.

Its worth a shot i guess.

sorry to hear mate.

If i hear anything i will let you know.

SXC180, you should try deathstaring the little c*nts every time you see them, seems to work a treat for me O_o sometimes i leave my windows down a bit O_o

bad luck stan. hope it gets sorted champ.

im in.

OMG Stan, i saw your freakin car. what a mess.. i'm really sorry to hear brother, i walked out and heard a car alarm going off, i saw it was your skyline with glass everywhere, i'm so sorry brother, i didn't see anything. westfeild have survailence for both carpark and shopping center, see if you can get some ids .

im so put off going to miranda, there have been countless break ins, skylines stolen and it still continues, like i said in the last car stolen thread at miranda i reckon we should take it into our own hands and park a skyline in a dark corner, wait for these little c**ts that are braking into them, wait for them to make a move on the car, jump out and obtain them, turn them in after making them a bit sore....

not a bad idea actually , i m in!!

Very unlucky Stan.

Best of luck with getting them, getting your gear back.

Very stupid no one said anything when your alarm was blaring and both windows smashed.. C'mon guys.

Really hate reading stuff like this, I bet you just wished you where 5/10 mins quicker and caught them doing it..

All the best

OMG DUDE AT MIRANDA westifeild?? serious..

where abouts did you park mate?? what level.. please pm me it if you wish..

Be lucky your car wasnt stolen..

have you spoken to managnment??

I seriously reckon they should step up on security.. Have cameras at all exits, hell even ask ppl to pay for parking at all levels.. Cameras at most hidden corners.. Seriously they make enough money already, how can they not put up cameras..

Everyone should really park at security!!

this is frustrating news now..

Thanks for the support everyone, but what has happened has happened... already sorting out most of the required parts/people to make it all happen again - for now the car is just at home sulking like me :P

Anyways, I was parked on the rooftop level between 1pm and 3pm. I spoke with management and they have said that there are no security cameras on this level (how convenient)

If I had known that there was security parking, I would've been in there - everyone who knows me will vouch for the fact that I am very careful with the car and will not skimp on security. Truth of the matter was that I did not know this option existed.

There is some development with the signage at Miranda (thanks to the person who did that massive favour for me, you know who you are). I will be looking at action against Westfields - but saying this, the people there were quite helpful.

XINHUA - What is wrong with you? You see my car hit in a open carpark and you do not call the police??? The least you could've done for me was notify people at the shopping centre instead of walk off like you didn't even see it.

I can't believe you would even have the guts to tell me you saw my car there like that and you didn't do a thing. I am lost for words, but to sum it all up - you're a DOG!

sorry to hear about your car stan. that sucks mate. My advice is forget about this $3K reward. it's a waste of time, and your money if you should happen to pay it. Just file the claim with your insurer (if you have one of course) and move on. yes it sucks. But unfortunately we live in a city with crime. it may be hard to see it this way, but look on the bright side. you have a skyline. many people do not and would give a lot to have one (even one with a smashed window).

also, i would never park on a top level of a carpark as they often get the least traffic so are a nice quiet place for people to break into cars. parking on the levels that are busiest is best. also always take your phone out of the car, and if you have a flashy stereo that has a removable face take it too (or at least lock it in the boot with the release disabled).

again, sorry to hear but it's not so bad.

    • Reading through the engine service manual their advice is do a cylinder balance test. Unplug one injector at a time and see if the idle drops a consistent RPM. You can also do this using a Consult cable which is easier. They also call for unplugging the power transistor, then with the engine off and the fuel rail unhooked from the manifold verifying that you have good fuel flow (even injection, no dripping/leaks, etc) when you twist the CAS by hand. Also verify the spark by pulling the spark plugs and allowing the plugs to ground and turning the CAS by hand. I would also start doing the sensor checks and idle valve checks in service manual. Make sure the MAF tests reasonably, the intake air regulator is sane, etc. You may have to get new spark plugs.
    • This sounds very old of me, however since buying the Tiguan shit box, my view on shit boxes have changed.
    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
