Will be good to see it back on the road... it sucked so bad to see it in trouble so soon after getting it on the road :(

On an unrelated note... you didn't happen to have Anna with you?

(bottom left) lol

Im guess in Anna was there...

Dan was not scratching he was passing wind on the HK bag...

yes dan would be intrested to see what is in the motor my self...

I did see the motor in parts (before being built & after) with the new big & main end bearings being fitted & also the flat top pistons & a S/Steel head gasket to be fitted, so will be intrested to see if Micheal (M & what ever it was motorsport over at Murarrie on Murarrie Road) has put all these parts in or if in fact the parts that I saw in the RB was from the other car that he had in the work shop...

Dan also if the block is too far gone (looks like it) I have a block you can have for free & can bring it to you if needed, motor was good till it got a little to smokey for my liking.

That would be awesome mate. Yeah crank is completely knackered. When I do my engines I like to keep the crank and block matching as they are line bored to each other. So if your RB30 block and crank is still ok, I would gladly accept it. I'm sure Ben won't mind the $150 saving either.

Also you are wlecome to come and have a look at it if you like. Only the sump is off and half the big end and mains (lower half). Waiting on confirmations from Ben before I crack into it. If I get the go ahead I will let you know what the outcome of the engine parts enquiry is.

wow, Nice ass Dan! How come I didn't notice last time we meet? hahaha

Ben, I dont think you feel too sad abt the break down, coz you know you will get it back even better( besides, you always got some other skylines to give you the ride, lucky..). As to the money spent.......I can feel it. (getting my car retune, air-con regass, check coolen ratio, etc......might not have the money to do the serviing.....) Anyway, looking forward to see your car back on the street again! THen go for a cruise? Yeh, I am such a cruise freak....haha

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
