got my stagea running today and it runs awesome, nice and lumpy idle, starts making boost at just over 2k rpm and 130rwhp at just under 4000rpm (revlimit at the moment). cant wait for the real tune and some real boost

happier than a pig in shit thats the motor runs sweet and no problems :) few gearbox and other issues but thats not a big deal over all

cheers

Brad

i take your'e been buliding your motor or something?

What ever gave you that idea?.... Oh yeah, must be the pic of a crankshaft sitting in the back yard :(

Good to hear she running sweet... Must be itching for her to be all run in and tuned so you can start having some fun :D

cheers guys and the screamer pipe doesnt even have a use at the moment being under 4psi of boost (max rpm i can do is 4k)

yes i built the motor, theres a thread in the forced induction section from my old nickname "stagezilla" and its called "building the jun 2.7L stroker" or something like that, hundreds of pics of the build and the dramas of it all, but welllll worth it in the end :D

thanks

Brad

130rwhp... are you sure its a 2.7 JUN kit? JOKE!

My 918.5cc has over 150rwhp hahahaha LOL

again, a JOKE. Please dont flame me, just some good natured ribbing.

Anyways - I give you the FULL FIST :D

Best of luck with the running-in mate, god Damn thats SO hard to do. You want to gas it some, but yet you know you cant. I ended up going on some real long rides just to get the first 1000kms up.

Once I could take it above 6000rpm after that 1000km mark, god damn was I impressed, one of the best days of my life was when the beast was finally let loose in anger..... bejesus that day still gives me the sweats...... and it just keeps getting better!

Awesome work, well done.

Mine was after a full-on (expensive) rebuild with all the trimmings etc, just like Cruiseliner. Problem was Id been riding it for ages before hand ringing its neck, then all of a sudden you need to pussyfoot around for a while, when all you want to do is find out what it can do....! Was hard as!

Good luck with the riding mate.

thanx for the support, i cant rev it past 4k anyway cause the revlimiter is set to 4k and it just bounces off it if i try and rev it. goes really really good even upto 4k it pulls pretty good. its back off the road as of this afternoon, the bloody diff is clunking as the shim thicknesses were not setup properly when i installed it 12 months ago and its annoying the shit out of me. diff is out and ready to be checked tommorow after work and then reinstall it.

next is the transfer case which is whinning like a bitch and is even more annoying, so that will come out this weekend possibly or maybe after i do the 1000km.

done 160km or so, so far. i drive another work vehicle so i dont drive until later in the arvo after work so i dont do many km's. i wanna sort these problems b4 i go racking up too many km's and causing long term damage to the diff/gearbox/etc.

cheers again

Brad

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
