Well done to all officials and organisers, put on another great day!!!

Unfortunate about the Elfin which decided to cruise around the track while dumping ALL its oil, definetly put a damper on the day....

Times are also up:

PS: i've gotta ask whats with your's and james sig Troy?

There once were two guys that were good steerers and both owned quick cars. But it seems that wasn’t enough for them, they had to bully and intimidate two honest punters, who, ok, may not be as talented behind the wheel or own nice quick cars.

So the repressed and down trodden have taken race fuel under arm, and united we will fight the scrounge that is Team Gayside. We figure they will be vulnerable in northern country Victoria as they cant go running to their ace mechanic and tuner when something goes wrong. You know how "they cant hear your screams in space"...well heres to hoping "Racepace cant make GTRs any bloody quicker when the car is hundreds of kilometres away??!??!!??:w00t:

The bet is the honest working mans team cant get a single heat victory at Dutton, so their thinking is they will have us 48-0. So one witches hat, one missed braking point will mean 47-1 and victory to us.

Edit – Gayside is local vernacular for Bayside Blue

I reckon it will take an 18 to beat Clayton in his WRX. Sub 20, very hard to say.. I haven't seen Frank do it yet so I really am not sure.

damn dude your car is hot, went out for lunch and missed your groups run on the track :w00t: Then i waited till the end for the sprints hoping u would run in that too but u never did

So in english, you and james are entering (the 32gtst) into dutton?!?

Whats with that wrx running 1.14s? what is clubman class?

What a turn up for the books that would be.

That time is an error.

We go through and validate the timing list and will correct anything that looks out of the norm based on Racetime's data.

And Chris, your thing accelerates quite well for standard turbo's. I assume they have steel wheels, hehe. You blew past my 32 up the back straight.

It's taking me a while to get used to these GT-R things.

Andrew

Damn that Fazz sounds the goods...

Would be a great achievement to beat the Fazz, considering he's running full slicks. I'd be a little shltty if I was the owner...

One track day and I'm addicted already! This is going to be expensive...

By the way, you were doing awesome in the sprints Ray (blue s15), SR20 reprezent!! :w00t:

Nah no steel wheels. just std ceramic crap that will surely lodge it'self in my piston rings one day. lol. It's all about the corner speed on previous corner, that gave the holeshot out of the corner. I used both ripple strips and apex. I even used the 1m of concrete on the other side of the ripple strip. U gotta use all the real estate. hehe.

I think chris would be more pissed about being half a second behind the ferrari :w00t: He's dying to beat it....

Damn Rarri. He's got a heap more stomp than me thou. He's spent a fair bit on that thing. Pulls away pretty hard down the straight. So i'm very please that I was that close to him. It should go quicker on the full slicks.

Roy - 48-0 will be a breeze! Bring on Dutton.

Chris it amazes me how fast you are in such a stockish car.

Have you ever done any laps at Sandown in snowies or anyone elses car?

Not yet. But anyone can feel free to thow me their keys and i'll see what I can punch out. Just be aware that you need to sacrifice your undertray if you want good times at sandown.

Roy - We have already won the 48-0 bet. You don't even have a car do you? Perhaps we will see you in Dutton 2007? or 08?

Brave man indeed. When I bought my car that's first thing people were telling me to ditch.

Well done on the 1.22.32.

Be interested to see what you could do in Jacks GTR! Probably give Frank a fright :)

    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
