Ok So hi all

New to here. So i haven't actually got a skyline as yet, but i want to get one.

I have a family so i am looking at a R33 GTST 4 door. This way i can keep the wife happy aswell.

I have been looking round and found some on the net, that are good and fairly cheep, unfortunatly 99% are automatics. I have found a car place in Vic, i'm form Tasie, that sells these in great nick for bugga all, they have a R33 with 44000 kms auto for $9900. And my mate had a look it's in great nick. They have other too stage 2 ect. The car place is called "Power Rd Car Sale" 9 pucket rd Vic, look them up on carpoint.com.au.

My qestion is do i buy an Auto, prefer manual but can't find one, spend lets say max $11000 on the car, and then spend another 4 grand worth of mods to make it a littel quiker ect.

OR do i pay $15000 and get a R33 GTST-R IMPUL version. I can get these from Jappan for arroudn the $14-15k price, but that measn i would have to leave the car standard for a while.

Which one series one series 2, to mady dam choices>>>>>

Also can somone recomend where i should look to find one. i have looked on the net but i mean places like "imports101: in Perth or Kamikazie Motor. Is it better gettign a car here or getting one form Japan imported through a place. HEEELLPPPPPP

What should i do and which way is a better way to go. Also if anyone has a 4 door for sale that they want to get rid of in the next 4 months let me know.

ps my spelling sux so sorry.

You could buy an auto and do a manual conversion.

The Impul version is HOT. It will retain its value very well compared to other R33 sedans due to its rarity (and natural good looks).

To make it quicker, you don't need to spend as much as $4000. Simply turning up the boost using a $22 valve will give you a noticeable power increase.

The advantage with Series 2 models is that they are newer and offer additional safety (something you may be concerned with since you have a family) in the drivers and passenger airbags.

If you import it will generally be cheaper but disadvantages are you can't see the car in person and also you will have to wait a few months for the car.

I just bought a R33 II Coupe, auto. The car is in great condition, and as much as I am enjoying auto, I can always convert it to manual later on...

And Ive been to Power Road... they got some nice cars but also some a bit worn... Id suggest a check up before commiting.

yeah i see what your saying. I think i might just try and find the best value for money R33 sedan and do what i like with the money i have.

Does anyone know if the IMPUL version runs stock boos and turbo, i have no idea what the spec differences are?

WHo do you guys recomend as an import place? I have heard of kamikazie and imports101. Can somone sugest a good a reputable importer?

Also does anyone know what type of boost does the impul version r33 run? is it stock or higher. They are specked at running 206kW.

Alos what is standard on these?

Any forther advice. What do you guys thing i can get for arround $12000 in a 4 door?

DONT BUY A FOUR DOOR!!!!! UGLY! ;)

Im a family man myself and bought my R33 GTST coupe not long ago and theres plenty of room in the back for the kids, even comfortable for three mates surprisingly and when driving by yourself you'll be glad you bought the coupe

at the top of the forum theres sponsors adds, some for import co's just click on one when it comes up :ermm:

Yeha but i like the conviniance of four doors, plus i think the IMPUL version looks hot. I don't mind the four door version, every tom dick and harry have a two door, no offence, so a 4 door is a bit more unique.

if you like the 4 door go for it. ive seen many 2 doors and 4 doors and both look hot. just depends what people do to the cars.

i personally would get a 2 door jsut because i dont want to be asked by friends to take em around... petrol is a killer now adays. and ive got my parents car to drive if i want to take friends. a dam huge 8 seater tarago. free petrol.

dont laugh... im a yr 12 student... and a poor one aswell

Well ok so i have drivven some 2 door ones, and i hoocked. I am getting a 2 door.

SO has anyone got a 2 door for sale. also i know Auto is not the best but i can get this one.

http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/NISSAN...ia/1675404.aspx

and only for 12000k is not bad.

what do you guys think?

Looks good, very cheap too... they normally sell these for around 16 grand... Id inspect the car first though...

And autos are great... easy to launch and very easy to live with esp in bad traffic.

PS good on ya for choosing coupe... :)

What about spending a little more and getting an R34 4 door, they can look hot az, I think they also come with tiptronic transmission so would be a lot more fun than just auto....

If you go for R33 4 door get the latest model you can as it will hold value better and its just better having a late model of any car...

good luck !

I think he wasnt prepared to pay more than 18 K for his car... so no turbo in R34.

If he saves for a little more, he could find a turbo R34 sedan under 20k as these are not very popular compared to the coupes.... I'd say it'd be worth it

If you look hard you never know....

well i know i might be the only one but i LOVE the R33 shape, always have. and yeah not really interested in spending more the 15k all up.

So anyone have any good dealers or friends that have one for sale???

Hi WogsRus

Ive had a 4dr r33 1995 for the past 3 yrs now. I love the car and the car has stuck it out with me throught a lot. All ive done is put mags on it and lowered it and because its slightly longer than the coupe the car looks awesome.

It looks stock and till turns heads so uve got a thumbs up from me to buy a 4dr.

    • This is the GTR fuel pump. Yellow shows 12V, orange shows earth. The ECU provides the earth to activate the fuel pump relay. The ECU side of teh relay will pull low when the ECU activates. This is the RB20 fuel pump. Almost the same, but a little simpler. You can see I indicated (above) where the 12V line goes down to the RB20 diagram on the overall diagram, whch shows both RB26 and RB20. This is where I show it coming in on the RB20 diagram below. You can see that the dropping resistor is handled differently. When the fuel pump control is not providing earth to the pump, the pump earths through the dropping resistor and thus runs at lower voltage (some is wasted over the resistor) and runs slower. I showed that "not 12V and not quite earth" portion of the wiring in a paler orange. The rest of the wiring that I did not colour on that little section below the pump would be orange when the fuel pump coontroller is providing earth. This drop is handled inside the fuel pump controller in the GTR. Regardless, you can see where 12V is supposed to be, where earth is supposed to be. The key on prime is via the ECU providing the pump for only a few seconds the switching off. You should be able to see that happen.
    • Yeah so when you turn key to IGN the fuel pump should run for a few seconds. If you find the fuel pump relay (and have a multimeter, and a second person) to can check the relay inputs.  One trigger pin should be either fully earthed  The other trigger pin should get 12v from the ECU for say 3 seconds when you turn key to IGN, and at all times that key is at START (note, I said this from memory, it may be the other way around, ie one pin always has IGN 12v and the earth has continuity to earth when you turn the key) One Pin should have a good battery voltage The last pin goes to the fuel pump + Also note that if the power to the relay is good, and the relay is working, it is worth checking the pump has a good earth too. There is a computer in the standard system that increases the earth resistance to slow down the pump when not required, pretty old school and it may have failed
    • All this talk about fuel and fancy ECUs, meanwhile my poor old R32 has neither.... When the ignition is turned on, should there be power running o the fuel pump constantly or just for the few seconds it usually takes to prime the pump? About to go have another look at it, have watched some YouTube vids on how to use a  multimeter and looked at some wiring diagrams but really have NFI what I'm looking for because electricity is invisible
    • Yuh....but weren't all the supertourers, except maybe the Audis, FWD? I don't recall any of the others being AWD.
    • They ran them in Oz Super Tourers too https://www.supertouringregister.com/register/vehicle/212/ (I'm so old I remember racing with Matthew Fox) They ran them in Oz Super Tourers too https://www.supertouringregister.com/register/vehicle/212/ (I'm so old I remember racing with Matthew Fox)
