Generally with the generic copies, some modification is require to fit. On the other hand, the more expensive JDM ones usually fit absolutely perfectly with little or no modification needed.

i bought a just jap one and found the mounts to be wrong and the inlet and oulet to be 3" (76mm) which is no good as the std pipes are 80mm. The core design seems to be decent quality but I would cut the pipes and replace with 80mm. I sold mine to a friend with a GTST.

Fittings, pipings, quality of the fins on the core, the flow are just all different. Get a japanese front mount and they fit on perfectly. No hassles, they perform well from start till the end. Never gives up on ya. I've got a Trust GT front mount with HKS stainless pipings and connectors, fits perfectly against my trust gracer front bar on my 32GTR.

It depends on what you are after. As said above, the genuine coolers are always a quality product and are priced to reflect this (although usually overpriced). I've got a Blitz 600 x 300 x 100mm cooler for sale for not much more than the cheaper Chinese ones. You get what you pay for - cheap and GTR are rarely associated together.

just to be sure, the one you bought was the new just jap GTR specific one (with the curved cast tanks)? thanks.

Yep The GTR "bolt on"

another strange thing to note is that when I bought mine the dimentions listed were 600mmx300mmx90mm now they list 100mm thick.

ebay $315 delivered. I like the core but not the tanks

The Just Jap GTR upgrade IS in fact a bolt on replacement on R32's but requires minor modification for R33's

That said, im using the Apexi GT Spec intercooler on my GTR and its massive at 138mm thick, great intercooler though they are no longer available ;)

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
