Well thats the thing though Id rather give it a squirt against some exotic or un usual car... I would not race another Skyline for the heck of it...

I dont buy pr0n... it comes for free whether in real life or online :)

and yeah the AMG was a big V8 and I was caught off guard but once she got that AMG flying I had no chance to reel it back in... :D

for all of you whinging about the 'grandpa mob taking over these forums' (i.e. Kermit and co.) have you ever stopped to think that maybe we have some members here who don't have the attitude and mentality of 16 year old schoolkids?

I mean, if you think thats the mentality that everyone should have, perhaps you belong in another forum....

I can point you in their direction if you want...?

www.fastfours.com.au

www.boostcruising.com

www.nissansilvia.com

just to name a few... i'm sure you'd fit right in there.

Sure, he didn't come in here asking for sympathy, i never said he did... What he did was come in here and ask how he can get out of an ass-reaming by the constabularly, when he full well deserves it.

I'm SICK AND f**kING TIRED of people whinging that they've been done for this, and done for that, and how can i get out of this fine, etc etc.

YOU DID THE CRIME, NOW DO THE TIME.

MAN UP AND FACE YOUR ACTIONS.

why is it that nobody is prepared to take responsibility for their actions any more?

and before you say that i'm acting 'holier than thou' etc, i have had my fair share of incidents...

2 weeks after i got my skyline, i had a prang (by myself, no other vehicles involved) that was due to speed... now, i was not travelling above the speed limit (60 zone) however, looking back, it was too fast for the conditions... was going through some tight s-bends at 60 (the speed limit) and a cat ran in front of me, i hit the brakes hard, which caused the rear end to slide out, hit the gutter, and throw me over the curb into a park/pole etc...

i was pretty shaken up by it, hell, i pretty much refused to drive my car for a few months as it affected me that much...

2 weeks after getting my car back from the panel beaters with my nice new front bar on it, i was driving along a road in the middle of nowhere late at night, and some little shits had pulled a fallen tree across the road, which, due to it being an 80 zone, i didn't see until i was basically on top of it... again, f**ked up my car, and my confidence in driving....

now, both of these incidents occurred while i was actually FOLLOWING the road rules.....

a further example... if i hadn't have been driving along and hit that tree, stopped, and pulled it off of the road while looking at my front bar, the next car along the road would have hit it.... do you know what the next car along the road was?

it was a police car, doing approximately 160kph along the road, on its way to a call-out.

What if he had hit that tree at 160kph? I don't think he would have lived to tell the tale to be honest.

The point of those stories? you never know what is going to be just around the corner, and you never know what is about to happen.

P.S. i have had one speeding fine as well, approximately 3 months ago now... 70 in a 60 zone.... it wasn't me the cop was chasing, i just happened to be in the same group as the guy, and the cop couldn't catch him, so i copped the fine. Did i come on here whinging and complaining that i'm hard done by, and how do i get out of it etc? NO... i may not have been speeding at that exact moment the cop pulled me over, but i knew i was speeding previously (it was on a mountain run) so i copped it on the chin, and paid the $100 and took the 1 point and racked it up as a learning experience.....

/end rant

oh, and for all you people saying you can give it a squirt to the speed limit and back off?

*BEEP* wrong answer!

cops can also do you for that.

I've heard it classified in a few different categories

"Driving causing undue noise"

"Undue Acceleration"

or the one that falls under the hoon legislation:

"Time Trials" (for which they can confiscate your vehicle, by the way)

Cops can do you in for flakey paint on your number plate or just by being present around a Maccas car park.. whats your point?

my point is that people shouldn't go around giving advice to people when they have NFI what they're talking about... i.e.

"oh, you can give it a squirt to the speed limit and they can't do anything"

what if he goes out and does that, and gets his car impounded for hooning... with the way everyone seems to "lawyer up" these days... even in this thread..., i can see the person who posted it being attempted to be sued or something...

So what, Your just a bad driver?

Once you have an accident it changes your whole mentality about speeding etc...

Try not to do anything stupid.. I know I don't anymore.. :D

Get yourself a good lawyer, barrister, because, basically all you have to do is cause enough doubt in the prosecution to prove that mens rea ( guilty mind ) and actus rea ( guilty act ) never happened. Then you're off... So in other words you don't need to prove you were completely innocent.. :)

I do legal studies :) So if there are any other people involved with the law here, please fix up what I said If I was off by too much.

Traffic offenses dont require a mens rea, all they need is the actus rea and your gone. Unless you can prove against a police officers word and statement that you didn't break any law. whether you ment to do it or not, or whether you were conciously street-racing (which you obviously were) then your going to cop it sweet, and so you should.

Fair enough, you can read/do/think whatever you like, i was just trying to fix some incorrect information that someone had posted

this happened to a mate of mine, was busted for racing... "lawyered up" lost, extra 4 months... no one on here is a saint, i freely admit that today, i felt like givin it a squirt... so i did.

The thought also came into my mind, is this the right place to do so?? am i willing to cop the shit if a member of the law is waiting up the road??

As said before, you do the crime, do the time. you did wrong, accept it and learn :D

yes i was street racing

yes i got busted..

there are so many hypocrits out there its not funny

i was just unlucky that i got done..

if there was a highway patrol followed you for everysingle time you drove your car out the drive way till back in the drive way.and drove how you would as if he wasnt there, every single one of you would have been done for "street racing".every single one of you have given that skyline that squirt to hear it come on full boost,to hear that induction noise and then to here it all snap closed and then back of the gas to normal driving..

there is just so many "nerds" or "geeks" or i dont no what to call yous that so called buy a performance car to sit in the left lane and drive so called normally with out reving it and what so ever cause you just "simply"like the car and it enginerring or what ever your excuse is..

i dont want sympathy at all...

im just asking has any one been done.....

what was the out come....

and with my story do i have a chance,no radar,no camera, and he was the only cop in the car..and i never admited to anything...

of course if i can get out of it im going to try.i mean who wouldnt.it would be so stupid in the circumstanse to stand there and say yes officer i was street racing, why dont you get me for neg driving and speeding to oh and by the way here is my licence i dont need it anyways..

so many sau "so called enthousiest" that just injoy there car pfff....go out and buy an morris minor or and fj holden and go joint that club or something...

thats my rant... flame me if you want go for your life....

no ones perfect not even you.. and everyones sped/street raced i was just the unlucky one...

Oh noes! I'm being insulted by someone over teh interweb! my life is over! i better go kill myself now!!!!

Ever stop to think that maybe those 'nerds' or 'geeks' are actually the smart ones, who follow the LAW when driving on the street, and if they want their adrenalin rush, they take it to the TRACK, and enjoy their cars there LEGALLY?

or how about you stop giving skyline drivers a bad name, by selling your skyline and buying an S13 Silvia and then join Nissansilvia.com? You have the right mentality, and would fit right in there! :D

Take care now!

computer geeks drive and play all day on skylinesaustralia site...

everyone has there own view i guess.

take extra care now! easy on that gas pedal i dont want you to risk a speeding fine or that old lady

drag you off in her gemini after shopping

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I see a distinct lack of comprehension between right & wrong in some of what I've read, to the point that stating the obvious would be boring...

Re: the rights of the individual to choose to do as he pleases because it's all fun and nobody got hurt.

V's the rights of the general public to be able to go about their business without risk of injury or worse while out walking or in transit.

Licences are not a right, you have no rights as an individual driver. Your licence is given with some pretty well defined rules that you're expected to obey if you want to keep it, but more importantly for the safety of others.

It's not really an argument is it?

I feel sorry that your car was confiscated for a first offence? That's a big loss for a couple of seconds of fun.

Have they just impounded the car for a set time or has it been seized permanently?

Either way it's a hard way to learn a lesson, goodluck in court but I think it may be a waste of time a more $$

    • I got back to Japan in January and was keen to get back on track as quickly as possible. Europe is god-awful for track accessibility (by comparison), so I picked up a first-gen GT86 in December just to have something I could jump into right away. The Skyline came over in a container this time and landed in early January. It was a bit battered after Europe, though—I refused to do anything beyond essential upkeep while it was over there. The clutch master cylinder gave out, and so did the power steering. I didn’t even bother changing the oil; it was the same stuff that went in just before I left Japan the first time. Naughty. Power steering parts would’ve cost double with shipping and taxes, so knowing I’d be heading back to Japan, I just postponed it and powered through the arm workout. It took a solid three months to get the car back on the road. Registration was a nightmare this time around. There were a bunch of BS fees to navigate, and sourcing parts was a headache. I needed stock seats for shaken, mistakenly blew 34k JPY on some ENR34 seats—which, of course, didn’t fit—then ended up having the car’s technical sheet amended to register it as a two-seater with the Brides. Then there’s the GT86. Amazing car. Does everything I want it to do. Parts are cheap, easy to find, and I don’t care what anyone says—it’s super rewarding to drive. I’ve done a few basic mods: diff ratio, coilovers, discs, pads, seat, etc. It already had a new exhaust manifold and the 180kph limiter removed, so I assume it’s running some kind of map. I’ve just been thrashing it at the track non-stop—mostly Fuji Speedway now, since I need something with higher speed after all that autobahn time. The wheels on the R34 always pissed me off—too big, and it was a nightmare getting tires to fit properly under the arches. So I threw in the towel and bought something that fits better. Looks way cleaner too (at least to me)—less hotboy, less attention-seeking. Still an R34, though. Now for future plans. There are a few things still outstanding with the car. First up, the rear subframe needs an overhaul—that’s priority one. Next, I need to figure out an engine rebuild plan. No timeline yet, but I want to keep it economical—not cutting corners, just not throwing tens of thousands at a mechanic I can barely communicate with. And finally, paint. Plus a bit of tidying up here and there.
    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
    • I assume clearances were all a-okay?
