Hi All!

Well after a very long time without my R32GTR due to a rebuild as I blew my rear turbo causing the pistons to get scroed badly  , it is now finally back on the road.

So far I have got new forgies and rings, n1 oil pump, n1 water pump, main and big end bearings, polished head and crank, stock rods, new timing belt, new r34n1 turbos, apexi pods, trust bov, exhaust from front pipe back etc etc.

I am running it in at the moment but its still got the stock ECU in it at the moment. I am definetly getting a PFC and boost controller which will be my next mods, but is it necessary that I buy a new fuel pump(bosch 044) and injectors(Sard 700cc) before i get the power fc/boost controller installed and tuned? Or could I get away with the stock injectors and pump? Also what boost controller do you guys recommend?

Appreciate any opinions and advice! :D

Cheers

Phil

Thanks for the reply guys.

Well im looking at around 300rwkw. How many cc's are the standard GTR injectors?? So for max of 300rwkw what size injectors would i need so its not being pushed to its max?

Stock injectors ones will go to around 300rwkw... depends on the car it seems as some can and some cant.

You have pistons, stock rods are fine etc etc. So there is no worry about something breaking, i'd get injectors and work the N1's to thier potential

Thanks for the reply guys.

440cc

my injectors maxed at 370rwHP

yes i wouldnt be running stock injectors at 300rwkw day in day out. you are just setting yourself up for some heartache down the track. i say just grab a nismo pump, and a set of sard 700cc injectors, then alll your fueling worries are solved.

What about the bosch 044's? Are they any good? Im thinking of getting that pump.

Stock pump is fine however a 15yo pump may not be, so a nismo unit is ideal for your aplication. Stock injectors wont do the job you will need 550's, of course it will depend on how hard you want to push the turbos .

700's are overkill for the turbos you have but its your call as sards are very cheap .

I've got exactly the same set up and have gone the sard 700cc and bosch 044 route. No problems, plenty of headroom if you want to go cams down the line and as mentioned both parts are in the cheaper spectrum of things that will do the job.

I've got a Blitz dual sbc spec R and am experiencing some difficulties with getting stable boost. I know of other GTRs that use them and have no dramas so i'm guessing i need to do some thinking. Some guys swear by the ProfecBII and i've been told that this is for a good reason in terms of bang for your buck.

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
