There is nothing worse than the phone call.....

"we replaced this bit, but while we were there we saw this and this and this and this......"

I can only sympathise mate, ive been in a position where sh!t kept going wrong and its no bloody fun at all, the only thing that kept me going was my 1986 falcon that i took bush to do some jumps!

Karma is a killer i hope that guy gets what he deserves.

Heartbreaking story :D

I'd be organising some a cruise for our eastern states counterparts to do the guys lawn that sold it to you ... well after the solicitor anyway.

Your going to appreciate the car once your able to drive it knowing its completly sound. Hopefully it'll be sooner rather later.

I'm trying to put a positive spin on it. I see it as "character building" and the frustration is subsiding due to my good friend Jenna Jameson.

Cheers,

Andrew

Alrighty, the car has been in the panel beaters for a little over 2 weeks for the chassis rails and floor to be straightened ( a days job ) and still the end is no where insight. The guy who is doing it has sliced his foot open by some sort of glass.

lol figures as much.

HAHAHA

Well I got the car back last night from Down Under Panel and Paint (not recommending them to many people). $1300 later the chassis rails and floor have been straightened.

Now I just need to get the carpets of masTers. If anyone knows him, throw him a message for me. The guys i needed to get the carpets off has absolutely no idea what i was on about.

Then the boot seals and some degreasing and it should be done.

I just got the carpets yesterday from Knox Auto Carpets and they will go into the car.

The rubber jigs left and she will be ready for the pits.

Next pay day I will be ordering these rims:

19's Starcorp Racing Impul White/Wide Pack

hey andrew.. hows she going now? :)

still need to borrow my rims? (they are in hot demand at the moment!)

btw: those white impuls with chrome dish will look sweet on a blue 32. :D

Sup Mitch,

Things are dragging a little on my end ( my fault with running into the police with an unlicensed car and having to hide the car away for a couple of weeks). If someone is chasing the rims then buy all means lend them out. Still rekkon it will be about week before the rubber jiggers will be done. Carpets are getting done friday or saturday.

If any one ever needs new carpets. 175 for plush carpets delivered to your door you cannot beat that. Know Auto Carpets ftw!

The 19s are setting me back 2500.

Good News!

As of today the 32 is now licensed. It only 2 attempts at the pits and:

1. New Diff

2. 2 attempts at interior carpet

3. New Rims

4. New Headlight

5. New Front Intruson Bar

6. New Chasis Rails

7. A Straigtened Floor

8. Replaced Steering Rack Seals

9. New Park Lights.

10. New Seat Belts

11. New Back seat.

Bad News:

In extensively degreasing the Engine Bay I have found a giant crack through the bottom of the gearbox.

So its time for a new gear box.

Did anybody else see this coming?

    • Nope.    Grab a varex and turn it down as you get close to home, win win?
    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
