Bluprint
A few friends of mine (Frink & Bullet32 on here among them) absolutely swear by them in terms of bang for buck, apparently they stick like shit to a blanket, though I hear some people saying that they tend to go off after they've travelled a certain amount of kms, and have noticeably less stick and generate more noise. 75coupe
I run federals on the front now... 235-17s I don't find them to be anything special.... Wil be running Hankook very soon... Good price and I've heard they have good grip... Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/119074-federal-595s/#findComment-2193979 Share on other sites
cowie165
I run federals on the front now... 235-17s I don't find them to be anything special.... Werd, albeit a good tyre for the price. I'd like to try K104s too. On my R32 the 595s lockup before ABS engages. Without meaning to be rude, a search would probably find a thread from a few months ago discussing these very tyres Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/119074-federal-595s/#findComment-2196503 Share on other sites
MrStabby
I'm pretty sure there are two different types of 595s - the SS595 and the 595 RS. The SS595s are these ones; http://www.federaltyres.com.au/car/ss595.htm The 595RS's were reviewed along with 8 other tyres in either Motor or Wheels recently. The short of it is that they were the best in the dry, the worst in the wet, and the cheapest by a fair margin. The mag suggested thay may be a good choice for ppl who do the occasional track day. They sort of seem like they're a bit more like an R spec tyre than the others in the test. VHR32
The price in the motor magazine tyre test was wrong. SS595 tyres might have been the $130 stated but the 595RS's which they tested are more expensive. I got a price of $330 or something for 17's....... Bass Junky
Hankook K104 They are top tyres. I use them for all my car duties. Should be about $180 or less for the 235/45/17 and about $260 each for 255/40/17 They are great in wet and dry. PSI_GTSII
The Federal 595 RS's by all accounts are a very good tyre...in the dry. I'd fit them to mine but they dont come in 18's apparently....
