GTiR use timing chains. and ther will be no crank over at all if the valves are hitting the piston.. i might come have a look wher u located..?

the timing chain is alot stronger (opinionated) than T belts. and dont need changing.

check how much oil u have. perhaps ur mechanic forgot to tighten the sump plug and ur oil leaked out.

sounds like its cranking over. so im guessing its gonna be no spark. they check ur ignitor.? get a compression test

all cars run shit when cold. its just they run a different map and have the auto choke on. u shouldnt drive a car hard untill it reaches operating temps.

No offence but you almost seem as though you have as much mechanical knowledge as the rest of SAU. Since when does an EFI car have a choke?

And whose opinion that a timing chain wouldn't be stronger than a belt?

Sif a chain would be weaker than a belt. I've only ever heard of one timing chain breaking before. Usually people blame the chain for being noisy when it's actually the tensioner that's broken or a guide. Anyway, off topic.

You are, however, possibly on the right track with spark. That would make sense with fuel coating spark plugs. Do you have a spark tester?

don't take this the wrong way, but all that to achieve 300rwkw and not to really use it?

like you said, there's a valid reason: owning too many cars and hardly driving it.

and i'm speaking generally here; but doesn't anyone plan things anymore?

why i want the skyline?

what i want to do with the skyline?

how am i going to achieve the above?

just seems a shame that's all. alot of hard work and no enjoyment.

Yeah Ive had the car for 3 years, I bought it thinking id have it for 12 months like my other skylines.

But it grew on me, but i need to see as life has changed rapidlly for me in the past 6 months.

So in short yes I did think about this, Ive had 3 years with the car, yes it only reached its goal in the past 6 months, but now life has changed and I dont use it nor see it anymore. So I may as well not have it at all.

Its sad but its time to go and move onto something else... Im not giving up the thrill of performance cars/bikes, I still have the S15 and the GSXR...

lol yeah, the new owner was roasted on cb for trying to race someone who was driving a corolla or something and then having a mate moon him out the window when he refused....sounds like an A Class skyline owner!

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
