I work with a chick that is super hot, complete biatch, but hot none the less

When you hate every part of their style and attitude its hard to see anything else, dressing like a homeless mental patient with a camera really detracts from her look

Working in a lab doesnt make you geeky, and as some one that goes to labs I can tell you that there is nevery any hot ones in there. Accountants merely dress in professional attire, thats a different thing all together and ditto most librarians.

You are all living in a fantasy land! :P

actually accountants usually dress rather nicely. I'm an exception cause work on the GC but if I was to work say in Brisvegas Professional attire or get da boot

BTW hot female geeky accountants do exist ;)

So, what you're saying is that if we were to draw a Venn diagram with one circle covering hot geeky girls and another for who work in accounting, there would be no overlap?

This is true and highly frustrating. Especially when the Partner has been looking for 2 months!

can you go above HR and speak directly to Partner outside work hrs (cant believe Im saying this)

I spoke to the Partner directly this morning. Caught up for a coffee. This is where he said that he hadn't even seen the CV I sent through on the 12th of August. Problem we have is that HR have said that they will blacklist our company from working with theirs if we send candidates through to Partners directly. It's a shite situation to be in.

They will. They don't like us talking to Partners directly. It could result in not getting paid and being black listed from the firm.

Because you have to be gentle and precious with HR. They're the ones that WILL sue if anything goes wrong...

Thats a bit rich mate. If they accept a candidate via normal channels and things go wrong they can sue you?

I would be inclined to get lawyers to review your paper work Tony if that's the case and protect you from such potential litigation

No no no no no!!

I was saying that if they tell HR to pull their socks up and it isn't done in the right way, HR will sue the firm for wrongful termination, harassment etc. They're like that at times.

Ok, good. Had me worried there for a bit.

Internal HR can be a double edged sword IMO and in general can add little value to businesses (they are the first to go when redundancies take place in large organisations which is ironic)

But hey I don't make the rules.

      I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
