I've heard if you look into the mirror and chant "Charlie, Charlie, Charlie" he will appear in Whoretown!?!?!?!?!

We can't all be LS1 haters, I will be putting an LS(insert number here) into a car in the not too distant Future but I've got a bit of a timeline and process to go through before it hits the streets....28 months and counting.

Sounds good bro :)

Aslong as its not a 33 I'm in favor of it lol

Yes factory power figures are how you decide what a good engine is.

Well how do you decide what a good engine is then because there are alot of big hp LS motors out there?

You tap away at your little keyboard drivelling on about quad cams and volumetric efficiency, but its not my problem the motor you like is smaller, hell blame Toyota but don't run around the place going on about how I have 1.7l more then a 1uz and therefore it's a worse motor.

people think the Earth spins because of gravitational forces....completely wrong......there is an LS1 in the core of the planet that is causing the spin....a few have been put in space to move the planets around the sun too

I didnt say it was worse because it was bigger, its worse because it is a truck engine with its design roots in 1955. and 1uzfe can and will match a LS1 more or less mod for mod, because of the magical concept of efficiency that you don't seem to grasp. My brothers 1uzfe made 205ish rwkw with an exhaust and flash tune.

I am not doubting that a LS1 can make power, its just they are crude as f**k and I appreciate a good ole engineering feat.

Good tanty though! Made my morning interesting.

Surely its an Ecotech.

Anyway enough superior engine torque (< :ninja:)

Pissing down rain here, makes it possible to keep the floor clean

Nice Pun, hi 5.

Though not sure how the rain helps keeping the floor clean...unless you are collecting the water and using it to mop...

Quad cam and 6 bolt mains > pushrod heap of 'murica shit.

In other news my brother in law has decided to buy a R35 GTR. I am very excite. Have wanted to drive one for a while now.

This is true

Yer hence why my motor makes 60kw factory more than a 1uz....LS > 1uz

This is not true

LOL just a lot of us are in the 10+ years of SAU membership, I've been pretty scarce since I moved on from the LED business, that was the only thing keeping me here as I said good bye to the R34 about 3 years ago :(

Hiiiii Dannnnn!!!

1000% NOT a Skyline

De Lorean!

Don't confuse him with big words!

He is from Gatton...

No but if you have a bigger motor that can only pull the same as a smaller motor, then what's the point? It's like my fat chick remark. Remember!?

I understand VE I just don't give two shits for it when comparing smaller engines cause all I think is "why the f**k didnt they use that same technology and make a 6L?!"

But yes wet weather makes me a grumpy f**k...

so, whats the kw/l difference?

an extra 1.7l for 60kw?

I meant impossible... What's going on Mr Steve? You missed a good day on Saturday :P

I dont hate ls1s, I just like giving nik shit about it.

he knows I have respect for it.

Is is true! Mine made 250kw factory a 1uz makes 190kw factory, 250 - 190 = 60

And yes yes I remember, the point is mines bigger than yours.... Sounds better aswell :P

    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
    • OK, if it idles at 1000+ with the AAC, its not an idle airflow problem. The cold start valve just gives extra air when the engine is cold, but you have enough air without it to idle at 1000. I think you are back to a fuel problem, sorry. Can you see the fuel pressure staying constant or does it drop as the revs drop to a stall?
