Ok I have found a mate that might know what he is talking about with Skylines.

He is telling me that with a stock R33 GTS25t I should leave the ECU alone, and Leave the Injectors alone, do the 3" cat back, and get a 600 x 300 intercooler, change my fuel pump to a Bosh 044, and also keep my eyes out for a brand new cheap Garrett GT3540r and manifold to suit?

Does this sound like a way to go?

What kind of power am i looking at when done?

and what is a rough price for all this set up?

with out labour cos I should be rite to get my local to fit it all for me.

Also he is talking about turbo timers and blow off valves and turbo smart hi lo switches, and also a plumbing kit for the intercooler.

Any rough ideas on prices of these? if anyone is in the right industry to quote.

Most certainly not.

Advice #1 - dont talk to that mate again about poerformance modifications, he does not know what he is talking about

Advice #2 - Here is a link to the sticky thread in this section:

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=66556

In there it takes you too this link:

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=45218

That are many more in that sticky (first link) with information (especially pricing/troubleshooting) that you wont find in some "tuning guide"

you mate doesn't know much about skylines by the sounds of it.

just to point out, the stock ecu has a 'boost cut' that will limit you to an absolute max of about 300hp. on stock turbo it kicks in about 13-14psi depending on the car. on a bigger turbo this will be even lower. it is caused by the air flow meter reaching its max voltage. so first thing to do if you are changing the turbo would be to change the ecu. then smack your friend over the head with the old turbo and don't listen to him again.

order of mods should be as follows

1. 3inch turbo back exhaust including highflow cat

2. assuming you dont want to go down the track of massive horsepower a gktech front mount kit will do you perfectly fine

3. either pod filter or a decent panel filter in the airbox maybe even mod the airbox for a bit more flow..

4. rb20 actuator or cheap bleed valve and raise boost to 11-12psi

5. depending on condition of fuel pump replace intank with a bosch 040 how ever not nessicary while still running stock turbo in my opinion

and aswell as everyone else.. i'd like to know why on earth your 'mate' said buy a gt3540 and manifold to suit before buying a computer injectors

and computer and fpr at minimum let alone fordged rods and pistons for that extra safety

Cos he is a dick I guess. I have no idea, that is why after he told me i ran it past you guys.

I called Ashley at Graham West in Adelaide.

This is what I have been suggested.

Let me know what you think.

PowerFC Comp (DJetrow)

PowerFC Boost Controller

ASE Intercooler

3" Exhaust, WIth Front Down, and Dump Pipe and Hi FLo Cat.

Rebuild my stock Turbo into a GT30 Internals Limited to 250rwkw

Bosch 040 Fuel Pump

Z32 Air Flow Meter

Nismo 550 Injectors

Does this sound like what I should be looking out for?

no need for djetro PFC

no need for Gt30 in stock housing (excess lag for no apparent reason)

he didn't chose them, that ashley fella did. learn to read.

and they probably chose the djetro to get rid of the arm. despite what you may believe a car will run just as well without it.

ok this is my recommendation..

1. HKS GTRS, power fc, 555cc injectors kit from nengun http://www.nengun.com/catalogue/product/26

2. Front mount GKtech should be ample.. for the price you really cant go wrong

3. BATMBL split front and dump pipe and highflow cat.. will also need cat back providing you dont have one.. either get one custom made at ehaust shop.. or search around and order one weather it be from japan or the forums.. exhaust technology off ns.com forums does some awesome deals on cat backs and the like..

4. Bosch 040 intank fuel pump and wire it up so it gets full 13.8 volts (search forum for the info on this)

5. Last but not least Z32 AFM

6. (optional) tomei Pon cams

7. boost controller which ever you prefer

------------------------------------------------

OR

-----------------------

1. Power FC (standard spec)

2. Boost controller of some sort which ever you prefer

3. i dont know about ase intercoolers.. how ever im sure a hyrbid or GK tech intercooler pipe will suit you fine

4. Batmbl split dump and front pipe and highflow cat (and a cat back to suit weather it be a jap brand or custom made jobbie from the exhaust shop

5. GCG highflow

6. 555 nismo injectors should be ample

7. 040 intank pump

8. and aswell z32 afm

9. Pon cams (optional once again)

ok in the little list of things he recomended.. i dont understand why you've put power fc Djetro than put Z32 AFM.. the idea of dejetro is to get rid of the afm and run map sensor.. which for your car you dont need

    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
