I fitted the nokia bluetooth CKW to mine, its great, dont need to even take phone out of your pocket. Have since taken it out of my 33 and put it into my 32. Its being used with a sony ericsson now.

You want Nokia - you have Nokia.

On removal a few little screw holes on the side will be damned difficult to spot.

thanks heaps mark that was my thaught but looking at the coin tray if it could be fitted inside that slot it would bring the fone further away from your legs but it dont look deep enough and as i dont have my car yet its hard to visualise

Mike, I went BlueTooth, I bought a speaker the other day and it just clips onto the sun visor. If you've got a BlueTooth phone, just leave it in your pocket like kjb_r33 said.

There are plenty around (BlueTooth and regular) that plug directly into the ciggie lighter socket (such as the Nokia one), too, and have an in-built speaker. Then it's just a matter of finding a spot for the phone, maybe take the Hazard button and surround out and hook something behind it that won't damage the dash too much...

Mine has (quoted) 20hrs talk time and 800hrs standby on its inbuilt battery, so I'll just leave it attached until the red LED starts flashing asking for a recharge.

This is the one I've got:

me personally i dont like the car kit. waste of money. First of all the kit itself its not cheap (3-500bucks??) +installation. How long are you going to keep the phone for 2yrs? then wat? get a new phone and it doesnt necessary fit your old kit!! Then wat? you get a new one. If you are not going to put an ugly ariel for the extra gain on signal strength dont bother in getting the car ket.

Just like everyone else says get a bluetooth spearker phone or a bluet tooh ear peice. Speaker phone are dangerous especially when your GF or wife is in the car with you and one of your buddy calls you and talk about some great chick that you met last night in the pub!!! Then you are toasted!! Get a earpeice. Be sure to get in car charger for it as well for both your mobile phone and your bluetooth .

I hope this helps i dont mean to kick anybody's butt. but just helping

ok here is what i have got.i got a full car kit including a phone off ebay for 150 bucks.the car kit is as new and fits all our phones as most of the new style nokias fit in the one holder. so if im in the car my phone fits if missus is in car her phone fits etc also it charges the phone while in the kit.ive already been busted for using phone without hands free in the patrol but was lucky and just got cautioned.

im a determined bugger im sure between everyone here we will work it out i mean even if it means buying a new facia if i have to

allrught man im just telling you before you go ahead with it. But if you insist well go ahead then be sure you update us on it though. since this is a disscussion group isnt it!!? :)

Are you going to fit it yourself?

if you go into any strathfield store, and ask for no-holes brackets to suit a nokia car kit, they'll help you out. hard to explain, but they just slot into the gaps between your centre facia and the vinyl around it. no pics, but i had a nokia CK-7W, installed by myself, with no holes, very solidly mounted with a No Holes Bracket.

A better option wouldve been the supertooth 2 that nick has, but bit late.

Velcro strips? Double sided tape? I can think of a few ways to mount it without using those and not leave any visible holes. However it requires custom brackets and drilling holes in places that aren't actually visible underneath the console.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
