Not ultimate different...

I've just about finished doing it to mine

For the cost price of a GTS-R... around the 15k mark... then the RB26 everything else like g/box etc.

Your looking at around 25-30k depending on what you want to do.

Can easily top 30k total cost... Or start from a GTS Turbo coupe @ a cost of 5k rather than 15k

Price of a GTR it is... but ive had this car for a few years and my GTS-R came that highly modified from Japan so fitting an RB26 was kinda a mute point.

But i would NEVER modify a stock HR31 GTS-R. To me its a waste of money... unless like mine, totally non-standard already

Your skyline sounds awesome R31Nismoid got a link to pictures if you've posted on the site? what where the power figures when u imported it in?

Well where i live probally never has a R31 GTS-R ever driven on its roads but with those figures you have shown i could buy a R32 GTR V-Spec II or a R33 V-Spec casue i am upgrading car in a couple of months as you probally know i own a R33 GTS-T and like every other place theres a fark load but not many GTR's so seprating to a RB26 powered R31 GTS-R or V-Spec would be a ultimate diffrent i do have a fair amount off $$$ to spend too me it wouldnt be a waste of money as i find it fun getting stock cars and turnin them into nice looking beast's we just finsht installing a workt 4G61T engine into my mates lancer but if i did install a RB26DETT into a R31 GTS-R what do you think the 1/4 mile time be around? just seein if it is worth it not much information is avaliable with this conversion.

thanks for the help

if you want to spend $$ on a hr31 coupe you'd be better specking to a broker to get one imported, maybe something from r31house might be what your after, please use a gts-x not a gts-r, save yourself $10,000 if your just going to put an rb26 in there anyway...M2c

if you want a gts-r there is a bloke here on the gold coast selling one in mint condition something like 80,000Ks on the clock for $15000 or something close....

there was a gts-r on j-spec, with a 26dett w/ AWD for maybe 11,500 excluding compliance about 3 weeks ago. had fat wheel arch flares and uber-dish rims... id be checkin and seeing if its still there, hey.

The way Victory tells the story, RB26's came from the factory with either single OR twin-turbo setups :)

In answet to the whole thread....an rb26 will bolt straight in to an R31 with the only changes being the sump and you need to fit the engine mounts off an RB from an R31. I also had to slightly massage a section of firewall behind the rear turbo to give slightly more dump pipe clearance also.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
