Can someone draw the driver a diagram so he can figure out what an apex is? It seems like its an accident when he clips an apex, rather than when he misses one.

Can we confirm if its an R8? Audi races them at Le Mans, and a hillclimb seems a bit tight for a car designed to do over 370km/hr down the Mulsanne Straight. And it doesn't sound like a 3.6L twin turo V8.

It looks more like a Westfield / Radical car to me...and if it had a worked bike engine then it would swallow gears like that.

Don't know about all the spectators standing pretty well on the road though as he comes blasting through... couldn't think of anything more dangerous

How about Rally, where the spectators / photographers stand on the course, jumping out of the way only when the car approaches?

dont be too hard on the poor guy scathing! I would say he's not a pro driver, more just an owner/driver enthusiast. He does move his hand around the wheel alot which suggests to me that he hasn't had a lot of experience in prototypes or open wheelers. I didn't think he was doing too badly overall. yes he is pretty wide a lot of the time but that may be for safety as much as anything and it may be the quickest way through the course in a car like that. it certainly is an awesome hill climb course that's for sure.

Hey, if it was me in that thing you could probably drive another open wheeler between me and the apexes

I probably wouldn't be posting it all over the Internet though. :D

But that hillclimb looks a lot more fun than Huntley, which is the only hillclimb I've ever done. I'd love a crack in it in my car.

You would use a totally different line when raciong down a open road by yourself, compared to racing on a track with a need to defend a racing line.

His Class time on the day would decide if his good or not.

And the biggest difference between a hillclimb and a circuit is how many laps you get to do in a row  this run is pretty long/lots of corners it would take a while to learn perfectly.

But after doing a few hundred laps of a track you could do it inch perfect in your sleep

    • I feel like I'm missing something. You had an authorised installer come out and install a new alarm. Post install the car doesn't start, and you aren't getting the installer back to fix what they did wrong?
    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
