It's a good idea BUT to hire Mallala just for a weekday it's a solid few thousand because they need a firey and ambo peeps i believe, as for the weekend well thats a good few MORE thousand! As for A.I.R. I believe it's useable now, but not sure on the quality of it as i havn't seen it lately, and i have no idea of costs there...... one would think ALOT cheaper than Mallala. I'd say check the Mallala website and go out in a group and just cut laps on a practice day and have a BBQ lunch and stuff, would be a hell of a lot cheaper than hireing any track....... Just a thought

I looked into this once, for a weekend day its ~$3000-3800, ambulance on standby at track is approximately $800 for an 8 hour session. These prices are off the top of my head as I can't find my original email and it was a while ago. But basically the prices are great if you can organise 30-50 people, => 50 under $100 but otherwise for a small group it might pay to all turn up to a open circuit day and pay the $100

i too have investigated the above figures and its about spot on... unless you can get cams to approve a grant for the day (my contacts with cams board are no longer so im out of the question) then we wont be able to... generally you can get a grant for cams to cover part of the $ (say half)...

if anyone does want to try and round up 40 cars id be more than happy to pay 100-150 for a full 8hour prac day... grip and no grip :)

I'd head up there, I would have to take it a little easy (not running nice exxy brake pads) but would most definitely still hit the track.

I would like to get subframe bushes and 3.9 diff installed prior.. If not its no biggy, just lay big single spinners as I leave corners.

Its easy. Just turn up for one of the practice days.

Only costs around $80 from last time I did it from memory.

You get around 5 sessions of 15min each.

That was with bikes, cars and open top cars all having their own 5 sessions.

Is great fun you can go at your own pace with no real rules pitched at you except common sense.

There can be anything from race cars to toyota echos.

Helmets long sleeves etc needed of course.

Only thing I can say that intentional drifting is out as there are other cars out there trying to get around as quick as they can and may get pissed off.

Last time I spun out a few times as I built up a little more courage trying a little too hard.

Count me in for a day out. I dont get to many SAU functions but definetly in for a track day.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
