For an amateur who likes to look after their paint I really recommend the ZAINO all in one stuff.

Have done a couple of cars and very easy to use.

My process is usually

Wash

Clay

Wash

Zaino Z-AIO

Zaino Z-CS usually 2 layers

Zaino Z-8

This is the only pic i have atm, and this is about 2 months after it was done. Zaino lasts for ever :-)

Ok long time since I have posted here so have changed my products a bit. I now use Menzerna products for the prep work wouldnt use any other. For Sealant I am using Zaino Z2 and for Wax I now use Collinite 915 lasts for 6 months :D . As a quick detailer I am using Aqua Wax, good Stuff. There are several othe products that I use but I will keep it to the main ones for now. Some pics of my Commy and the Coupe I use pics of the Dunnydore because it is Black and shows the results better.

the gloss you achieve is just insane mate, but i thought you were using a Dodo wax?

NISMO: nice products, Zaino to make "some" great products. Is your black metallic or jet black?

IMO switch the Z-CS out for Z2pro, and maintain with Z8

Yeah had the Dodo, it is a great Wax, then read a test on DW who tested some of the best/dearest waxes and the Colli 915 come up pretty good in the test. I gave it a go were the Dodo was $80 and the Colli has cost me $36 from USA, so damn cheap with both Waxes having an awsome depth and gloss the Durability of 6 months the Colli won.

Hey mate, It's a jet black. No metallic flakes through it.

I went with the Z-CS simply for it's ease of use. I'm a bit of an amatuer and it's the first time I went with a higher end detailing product. I kinda shyed away from the more "pro" Zaino stuff becuase of the need to mix it before use. But have have seen Z2 layered several times with Z8 on top and it'looks great.

The other thing with Z-CS was it's all purpose useage. I used it on the mags, windows, headlights and all dirt/dust just slipped right off.

With the Z2, would you still use Z-AIO and would it be before or after?

Very happy with Zaino, but I've sold that car and now have a white GTR so unfortunately you don't get that satisfied detailed feel as much on white.

Everyone must remember that you will get varying results with any Wax or sealant if the Prep work is not done properley, using a relevant Polish first to remove imperfections is the most important part to get a good finish. The Wax will only enhance what is under it.

Yep, 100% agree. The picture of the blackk V35 I posted above, involved 1 1/2 days of correcting the paint before the first coat of anything was applied.

is there any way to remove a deep key scratch?

will i be able to use touch up paint on it or is the only way to get it fixed is to respray the whole door?

key length is around 40cm long.. punk ass bastards

this is what i do

wash car using autoglym carwash.

microfibre dry

meguairs claybar

wash and dry again

polish with autoglym polish...the one for darker cars.

wax with meguairs deep crystal carnuaba wax.

this is my mates car we did...this is pics taken after the polish...no wax yet (ran out of time)

i was pretty happy with the result...but i wana get it better so i have been looking onlne for better products and i have a few questions.

firstly - what is the difference between a pre wax cleaner and a polish - are they the same thing? some online shops mention pre wax cleaner and i figure they are similar.

second - whats the go with layering waxes - especially ahrd and soft?

third - is their a kind of sealant (wax etc) that is bit longer lasting? all the carnauba waxes seem to say re-apply every 2-3 months and re polish every 6...is this to do with the synthetic vs carnauba???

im doing my car today...so i will post up pics for you all to see :D

BTW - sorry for the pic of the car used...as stated it is a mates

If you're looking for longer lasting, alot of people recommend (including me :-)) Zaino.

Most applications are expected to last 6-9 months. I've used it on a couple of cars but unfortunately none that I've had for over 6 months. But it was fine through those 6 months.

And as you've said, it's a synthetic product not a carnauba.

Most Waxs and sealants give you a better shine as you layer them, as a general concensus 3 layers will give you the best result any more does not give you any better result.

Just a couple

Zaino Z2(sealant) 6 months

Collinite 915 (Wax) 6 Months

Duragloss Total Performance Polish #105 (sealant)6months

Swissvax Concours (Wax) 4 months

Megs NXT (sealant/Wax) 2 months

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
