Tyres For R32 Gtr

Hi Guys

Just wanting to know if someone can me help out. Im about to pick up some new tyres this arvo and im wanting to know weather 265x45 r17's will fit on the back of my GTR it has been lowered a little bit but i can always wind the coil overs up? Or should i just stick with 255's as the rims are 17x10's so there pretty wide? Im worried about the the width an i dont want them to rub on the guards.

Ben,

I have 255/40/17's on the back of my R32. Whilst they are RE55's (Which I have been told are wider than the ostensibly equivalent 255 road tyre) they do just rub the inside of the lip of the back quarter panel. Best bet is to have this rolled out & you shouldn't have any problem with the tyres rubbing.

By the by, is that a typo for the sizes? Because 265/45/17 will have a much larger rolling diameter than a 255/40/17.

Yeh sorry i think there 265's x 40.

Probably best to. You wouldn't notice the 10mm difference in any case.

I'm running 265/40/18 tyres on all 4 corners on my gtr32, u will need the inner part of the fenders to be rolled up, and with the right height and alignment settings, u wont scrap at all cuz mine doesn't.

It does depend a bit on how much -ve camber you run on the rear of the car. It requires quite a bit of movement of the the top of the tyre outwards to get rid of a usefull amount - hence bringing it into contact with the guard over bumps.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned offset of the wheels?

Width isn't everything.

265 with the correct offset should not have any problems even with unrolled guards.

hi im running. 245/40R17 on 17*9 rims on all 4 of my GTR. u can fit 245s on ur 10" ones

Yeah, im using 235/35/18 on 18x9.5 so i guess that would work for 10 if you went slightly larger
