the gtr twins are located after the front mount but before the plenum.

im not sure how they are attached to the fmic piping. they are near the water bottle washer. i dont think it would be a direct swap and would need an adapter plate to mate it up. what problem did u have with the stock one?

if that fails, you should have a look at the GFB Hybrid bov. it's able to be fully plumbed back, and has quite a bit of spring adjustment. Contact Brett Turner at Go Fast Bits. He'll sort you out.

A stock gtr bov will bolt on...i've got one on my car...only thing is u need a larger diameter plumback hose as the gtr one is considerably larger...

any idea what diameter? an what sort of length hose am I in need of? any pics of your set-up (how you've changed the hose)?

glad to hear it'll just bolt on.

everyone keeps saying turbo surge......the flutter is only when changing gear...ie not on boost...ie when the BOV opens an due to not strong enough spring in there its bouncing.....fastly open/closing.....fluttering.....so how can this be a turbo problem?

well yes, it bolts straight up, used the top radiator hose from Telstar TX5 (cut a small straight section from it) to plumback to standard pipe (as the GTR outlet is a bigger diameter). using the old pipe I cut about a 3cm lenght of it off an put it in the other end of the telstar rad pipe as a reducer onto the stock plumback steel pipe.

but I still have the flutter :), an now if my timing of getting my foot off the accelerator when clutch goes in isnt perfect, I get a touch of VL turbo full sik dose pipe noise. strange...I thought the GTR bov would be better than the standard item...its pretty much the same.

luckily it only cost me $40 or id be pretty un-impressed, but now I guess i do get to add "GTR BOV" to the modifcation list of my car....lol

they have stiffer springs, the outlet pipe is bigger diameter an so is the diameter of the BOV inlet hole (part that bolts to pipe)

an if you sit them side by side...they dont look the same (RB20/25 BOV's made by Mitsubishi, GTR BOV's Made by nissan)

but I still have the flutter :), an now if my timing of getting my foot off the accelerator when clutch goes in isnt perfect, I get a touch of VL turbo full sik dose pipe noise. strange...I thought the GTR bov would be better than the standard item...its pretty much the same.

weird man.

I never once had an issue with my single GTR BOV.

It let off perfectly every single time... But then, Race Pace was where it was fitted... highly likely that was some sneaky change/mod to it :)

    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
