Thanks Will. Nothing happened mate... the car has actually been there the whole time but you probably didn't notice it under the cover :( It's taken a while as we've changed a LOT of things and it's taken quite a while waiting for bits to arrive, be modified and polished/coated etc.

Up until now I've only ever had the stock unmodified (apart from ceramic coated) plenum. See 'before' picture below.

Thanks r31turbo. We decided on a top mount manifold based on appearance more than anything else. But the top mount location does make things easier to fit. The turbo was initially fitted to the stock manifold for testing purposes, although it 'may' have had a spacer for clearance, I'm not 100% sure.

Cheers Munkeyb0y. Yeah the plenum is reasonably wide.

Hey Andrew. Thanks dude. There's a little bit still to come in the engine bay appearance department but it's getting closer.

You missed Will's poker game a few weeks back mate. Burgers was in fine form... 1st x 2. I came 2nd and then 3rd to end up $10 in front.

Thanks mr_rbman. I've seen your beast in at BW a few times too.

yeah Matt - unfortunately I was skiing in New Zealand, so couldn't make the poker night! :)

We had a small improptu one last night with just Chops, Burgers, Ham and myself - I came 2nd, and only missed out on 1st due to a VERY unlucky draw! Looking forward to playing again with your crowd if you have any spots free in the future! (Sorry I won last itme - might have put them off). Apparently you played quite well at Chop's place the other week! Burgers is just full of shit .... but he was out 2nd last night :):(:) - I took him out too!

Thanks Guy. Me too!

Cheers Sambo. To be totally honest mate as long as the new plenum doesn't show a loss of power (as many do) then the improvement in appearance and maintenance access will make me happy enough.

I 100% promise you a ride Max >_< I have to get a look at your 34 too though! Actually the missus was suggesting a non-turbo 34 four door as a good upgrade for her last night! She was keen to know what the fuel consumption is like... how thirsty is your beast mate?

Ahh that's right I forgot about your skiing trip Andrew. Skiing in NZ or a poker night... I know which I'd prefer.

Nice work on the 2nd and knocking Burgers out last night. Ahhh no need for apologies mate... gotta' play 'em as best you can! Yeah I had a reasonable game the other night, made one stupid error, but it was late and I was tired. Our usual crowd played a game today actually - I had a shocker! I didn't get a single decent hand pre or post flop! Still held on long enough to see 3 others go out before me :)

We'll have to organise a few more games between our two usual crowds mate. I'll keep you guys in the loop and you guys do likewise.

Thanks Busky. I haven't really got any hard 'n' fast aims at the moment. I'd certainly like to see enough power to run mid/low 11's. I'd love to sneak in a 10.9X but in reality the 5sp - which I intend to keep - just about rules it out. I'm definately going to fit 275/40/17 MT Street Radials ready for when the strip opens again. I'll also continue with the appearance mod's so it's up to standard for AS next year.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
