This was connected between my blow off valve and intake manifold in the middle of 2 vacuum hoses - it looks like its all melted etc and i think it was causing problems with the blow off valve coz it was only working sometimes...

anyway ive connected a vaccum hose up without this and everything seems fine now - so just wanna know if anyone knows what it is? and do i need to have it connected for any reason???

thanks.

I got one in the same spot, it got HKS on it , I got a HKS BC so i guess it got something to do with that

this is a hks one too - it looks like its some sort of little filter but i cant see why u would need it... anyway i had it off all nite and drove a fair bit with no problems.. its all melted and f$cked anyway from being next to the heat shield. i wouldnt mind buying a new one if anyone knows where i can get it???

Its a filter. Commonly used on EBCs to prevent vapours from entering the unit and f*cking the map sensor up. The only reason I could see it being used on a BOV would be for the same purpose, keep vapours from going into the end and turning into liquid - possibly f**king the operation of it? Personally I dont think a BOV needs it, definately a plus for anything electronic thats getting a pressure signal though.. vapours are bad!

why would you have a 1 way valve on a bov hose? that would make it either stay permanently closed, or make it leak something shocking.

exactly, i doubt its a one way valve.... unless the BOV vaccum line was tapped into the brake vaccum line, and that came from the brake side, but i dont think thats what's happened here, if it is, put it back, quickly!

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
