Guys! Anyone know how much power gain can I get after installing and tunning of SAFC on R33 gtst running 10psi of boost. Some say 10-15 rwkw. Is that true?

hard to say. it will adjust urr AFR and hopefully give u more usable power..dunno about 15kw although when I installed and emange on mine it gave about 10 from memory before and after,

around that.

The real gain however is in the mid-range/response which is not measured in outright power

gotta find me an SAFC somewhere!

I gained an extra 29 kw from the SAFC. Also eventually added an SITC to control the timing.

I have now ditched both and run a power fc. Power was only another 5 ish kw but as said

previously it's not in the overall power reading but in the fat arse power curve. Nigel from

Racingline tuned it and got me another 15 kw at around the 5000 mark. The power delivery

from the SAFC to the power fc is not comparable. Its much more smoother and pulls much

more harder. Please think about the extra $$ to get the power fc because it is really worth it.

But at the end of the day it's your $$$.

A possible reason why some may achieve better gains than others with the SAFC comes down mainly due to the fuel pumps condition.

One who is running an origional stock fuel pump may crank the boost up to 11psi or so make 190rwkw and run near perfect afr's.

Another has replaced his stock fuel pump with a bosch/walbro item, afr's as a result are rich on boost, knocking high 10's to 11's.

He drops the safc on and picks up 10 maybe 20rwkw depending on how rich it was.

By leaning mine off from approx 11 to 12 and dropping another degree or two in to the cas I picked up ~12rwkw.

So before jumping on the safc wagon one really needs to look at how their car is running at the moment, if it is indeed rich then by all means there are gains to be had.

But as stated... PFC all the way, my immediate thoughts when reversing the car then idling off slowly was wow.. the car/acceleration actually feels smoother.
