People who slam on their brakes when the lights turn yellow...

Is it safer that you end up stopping in the middle of intersection and making 2 cars veer off nearly rear ending your shiney Mercedes only to reverse back to the line or that you ran a yellow light?

Seriously, the light went yellow and he slammed on the brakes on Northbourne around 4:30pm... The labourer in the Ute was pretty colourful about it, Mercedes yuppie wound up his windows and looked away, being in a truck is fun, I SEE EVERYTHING!

I feel exactly the same way.

This may sound a bit square, but I was reading an excellent solution to this problem in a design journal the other week. The author proposed inclining the area immediately next to the conveyer belt, to make it awkward to stand or keep a trolley on. There were a few others also, but this was the main one.

I see the same thing at the 'take a number and wait your turn' gig at Coles/Woolies.

the incline thing would be a good idea! It's amazing that we even have to come up with a "solution" for people to use common sense/courtesy but there ya go.. All I could think of was a "stand behind the line" type deal, but people would probably just ignore it :)

totally agree about woolies/coles too! Take a number and GTFO!! and everyone stands right in front of the ham too... this SHITS me cos I always want ham...mmmm ham yumm....

never really have an issue at the airport... usually I wander off, get a coffee, come back and my bag's done a couple of rounds, so I pick it up and go. avoids the crowds. if I'm in a rush, I just bump people out of the way if they don't move for a polite "excuse me".

lol I stand in front of the kabana section trying to figure out if I wanna get the kransky, kabana or the sausages... and I never know till somoene forces me to make a decision.

anywho... something that shits me... writer's block. hate it. I have an article due by tomorrow and I'm more inspired to do anything other than write. totally blows goats.

it's all lips and arseholes, funky. Doesnt matter which one you pick! :)

you are *such* a charming young lady Shell.

kransky ftw. fry with onions and smoked ham. add salt. consume with a cab sav or even merlot.

haha YESS! cept I add a little spice to it as well. But kabana's n cheese is good when you're feeling lazy and the boys come around for some poker.

I can feel my arteries slamming shut...

The next 'cool' girl that rices up a Lance/Pulsar/Barina and drives down the Monaro Highway swerving whilst texting someone is gonna get their side mirrors kicked off...

+1 for the baggage carousel. but hey, this is the general public we're observing. maybe we can make smallgoods out of the the sphincter of the universes that stand too close. yech!!!

+1 for the cool young things smsing while driving. sensational. but remember, '...it's not their fault someone sent them a message while they're driving. get over yourself. jeez...' GRRRRRRR.......

:) sorry, lips and anuses.. is that better? lol

yep the general public suck... excluding everyone here of course :)

People who wrongly accuse me of not doing my job properly and complaining to my manager to further the issue.

BUT THEN.. that person to be advised what I told them was right and they turn around and say, "I thought so". There will be fist to face.. shortly.

haha that happened to me with the new guitar hero, pre-ordered, getting amped to rock it hard and then a week or so before it comes out it gets pushed back a week while america gets it at the same time so theres all these youtube videos released showing what im missing out on. It was released last week though so its all good... i rocked it hard.

Pinheads who pull halfway onto the parkway kicking up enough dust and gravel to bring traffic to a crawl until we could all see again. Nice work you dried out the sphincter of the universe. Lucky i was in the other lane so i didn't cop too much.

Traffic this morning was terrible. There weren't too many cars on the roads, but everybody was going under the speed limit in both lanes. And then there are those people who get into the right hand lane in because they just remembered that they have to turn in 5kms.

There are times where i wish i had a big 4wd, i'd just push them out of the way!

and another one so soon... ;)

people who don't even try to park properly between the white lines. how hard is it? bloody hard evidently. not sure if it's stupidity (no one has ever explained what the white lines are for), laziness (it takes so much effort to straighten out the car), ignorance (the lines are just a 'guide'), a complete lack of respect for others (the fact that people have to park either side has escaped notice) or the complete absence of a care factor (which makes you really cool,yo).

or maybe it's a combination of the above.

i need to have a nice cup of tea and file my teeth while i'm watching V8 qual.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
