A GTR with the equiv usual mods (exhaust/ECU/boost etc) to the GTS-t should be low 12's if you know what your doing.

Hell, i know of one that dipped into the 11's on stock turbos and normal rubber... so mod for mod the GTR will always be a fair way infront of the GTS-t

Weight isnt as much of a disadvantage as 4WD is an advantage

I don't know i always assumed that with a good full turbo back exhaust with dump pipe and hi flow cat, front mount, good cold air intake setup, power fc, fuel pump and a bit of boost and you would be in the 12s. Am i wrong for thinking this???

Well look @ Adrians results (2rismo)... does that not answer the question...? :D

Maybe Adrian can give a run-down of the mods that car had?

Daniel - IIRC the car adrian pilots was rev210's old car, and there is a link in the FI Guide to his project thread from a few years ago as it was very informative for its time.

It's my car - rev210 sold his R33 (in W.A.) and I've never even seen it! I bought his old Nitrous kit, maybe that's why you're confused.

I'll post specs later.

Adrian

The car had most of the usual stuff every other R33 GTST had. The Nitrous made 1 second difference.

Things like good tyres (not slicks) and LOTS of practice are mandatory.

Things like weight reduction and 300kW are not.

Thats probably where im muddled then

Only been to the drags once got all the supporting mods but have a Safc no power fc. Managed a 13.6 @ 105 with a 2.3 sec 60 foot time, on a 30 degree day. The run I had was against a stript out BMW M3 with track racing tyres and few other mods. He ran a 12.9 @ 105 with a 1.8 sec 60 ft time. As you can see from the time slip there was nothing in it other than the launch I actually felt I was slowly reeling him in 3rd and 4th gear.

From this experience I think you would need some really good street tires with 60ft time bellow 2.0 to break into the 12's. So it is very possible

That was about the best I could do with 17/45/235 hankook silica tires.

cheers

One customer ran 13.0@113mph with exhaust,China cooler.Safc.

No changes made for the track and ordinary budget tyres.

113mph was stock turbo? Bloody excellent if so. Quickest I ever ran (without the bottle) was 111mph and this was in perfect conditions.

How fast do u guys think a r32 would go with 213rwkws? i was thinking about 110mph and a high 12 if i was lucky

The setup is is for circuit with 18x7.5s, 225/40 s-03 rubber and all the suspension parts from SK's GB

I didnt see anyone with r32s posting hmm, ill re read

Edit: Ok i re-read and understand we are talking r33 with rb25 and stock turbo.

but the stock turbo on a rb25 can make almost as much as the 213 im making with bolt on turbo.

So i thought it wouldnt be a bad place to ask, considering most of they guys in the thread have actually taken there car to a dragstrip.

Never mind sorry to get off topic, its just ill never drag this setup and pretty sure it would have a high 12 in it, was just looking for a yay or nay :(

cheers tho

13.1@105mph on 205/55r16 $50 tyres to pass rwc

with better tyres (non slick) i will for sure run 12. But traction is an issue with these street tyres.

    • Nope.    Grab a varex and turn it down as you get close to home, win win?
    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
