Matt,

Sorry about yer run last night buddy, you'll get 'em next time.

Anyways, I have put up a post on the LS1 forum to gain interest for this meet, from people that i have spoken to the general consensus is "BRING IT ON"...

Cheers

Mat

I should be in pending on date obviously : )

Off topic, what do u guys launch at. I was trying a few launches tonight with my mate and best i could get between 6.2-6.5 0-100

I can feel that there is alot of improvement there so hopefully i will dip into the 5's.

Bear in mind it was with a stop watch and ive only had the car on the road for 3 days : )

Good stuff people - glad to see you're all keen :P After the 05Apr street meet it easy to see why!

Matt,

Thanks mate - for both the assistance on the AIR day & the kind words after my sad effort at the street meet :P

Clint,

The shift light is a unit made by Pivot (Jap brand name) See here - 1000500591hi.jpg & here - http://www.autospeed.com/shop/category_176...761/browse.html

It's designed as a cigarette lighter plug-in but I cut the plug off & hard wired it in. Works well, especially when you hit the limiter under w/spin! Oh yeah, it's red in the pic/ad but mine came with a blue lens!

I've seen you take off before - you'll put some of the guys to shame.Once you have 1 run under your belt you will be loving it - trust me. (BTW - sorry about the 3am SMS - I pressed the wrong key)

Erica,

More likely to be 50 (or even less) people private. I was chatting to Ivan again earlier today & he didn't make any mention of advertising beyond our forum groups + a few of his regular customers.

Good onya' Chris. That's the spirit :D

Good to see you made it to the forums 32godzilla! (Bit of SAUSA advertising at the drags never goes astray!) Very nice times too! You'll have to come out cruising ....

32godzilla - was that you I ran against in the bracket when I did the 9.50? Was sitting on the start line waiting, waiting for my green light & loved reeling in another set of stovetop lights.

Was looking at the datalogging tonight & even though the trap speed was 153mph(245km) I didnt back off till at least 265 in 6th gear well after the line!!!

After reading Martins comment on page 93 of HPI.29 I couldn't believe it when a "$50,000 torana" lined up next to me on the next run.Even though the GTR was all over the place I couldn't back off & let him go, so I fought the steering in every gear & took him at the line.I'm not sure if there was more than a metre

between our door handles over the line & I know which car would be more fun to drive.

G'day & welcome 32godzilla,

Does a certain Yamaha bike have anything to do with your car ;) ? If so then I was just behind & to the left of you in the line up lanes Sat night - nice 32R mate :) Nice time too! Hey can I borrow your traction advantage :P

Likewise SR910,

Yep mate it's on a weekend. So your in :)

    • Should be more than fine, especially the overall fuel pressure would never exceed 3.5bar (assuming that thing never gets more than 0.5bar of boost in stock form). According to the chart, it's 11amps.
    • I definitely know the first rule here, look first, ask second. I've seen many people get roasted 😂 I found a few diagrams for the RB, but I'm yet to come across one for the VQ. From what I have read, the pump gets the +12v along with the FPCM, and it's the negative wire that gets passed through the resistor to regulate the voltage. So I assume I can just ground the negative wire at the pump to eliminate the FPCM control. But I really wanted to see the VQ circuit diagram first to make sure I understood it correctly. Once the new pump is in I'll do some testing to see how it behaves, and in the meantime, I'll keep looking for a wiring diagram. Thanks for your help mate, your time is greatly appreciated.
    • Maybe? I have the Supercheap ToolPro low thingo. It has a somewhat smaller diameter lifting "bowl" than you would expect on a workshop grade trolley jack, and a split rubber pad to suit that diameter. It clears the "N1" style skirts I have. Probably wouldn't if the jack's bowl and a suitably larger rubber block were in use. Having said that though.....you only need the rubber block to exist on the inner side of the pinchweld, so could carve away any rubber that fouled the skirt, leaving some there for "insurance" </simples>
    • I used to do that (sills with rubber jack block).. ... then I got side skirts, and there's no way for the jack to actually work there, the jack pad itself on the jack is too big. Is the answer to use a... smaller (?) jack? Hmmm.
    • I have too much trauma from every skyline I've ever seen having crushed jack points/pinch welds lol.    Yep, works 100%, it's what I use when I'm using the quick jack. Don't know why I can't also bring myself to do the same thing when I'm using a jack. I blame the skyline PTSD.
