iv only had my car for a short time (almost 3 months) and i was about to get it insured with just cars,......the 3,000+ they quoted me was alot for me so i had to save up, and i was $600 short.

accident happend in melbourne 2 nights ago comming onto the eastern freeway at about 8:30pm we were going about 30kmph around the down ramp and my gf was driving, the roads were wet and it was really busy.

she put her foot down not that hard to get to 100 k's when were were on the straight, next thing you know the back end slide out and we were heading toward the side/hill sideways, car hit the hill while it was sliding and it flipped twice.

we are both okay but im a shatterd mess i will post some pics when i find my camera i went to the salvage place today and got my stereo and air filter that i had just put on not even a week before.

and before you all start saying servs you right for not getting insurance, well yeah i guess it does but then again i wasnt driving the car anyway so it wouldnt have been coverd in my gf's name.

faaaaaaarrk, now im out of work cant pay rent and so on, fffffffffffffffaaaaaaarrrkkk :)

here is a pic i took of my car earlier that day...il do the before and after thing

Yes you are a silly for not getting insurance, you could of spun shit and said you were driving it! How do you think the rest of people claim insurance?

Im sorry your car is a write off but you really need to get insurance sorted before you start driving a sports car thats worth more than 2 K.

Ah well, I guess your GF owes you lots of different favours, sexual, unsexual you name it!

not sure if i could of because people pulled over and had to help us out because the car had stopped on its side, (drivers side against the ground) if i was able to get out, sure i would of

bah hum bug, oh well its a miracle me and the mrs dont have a scratch on us, it could have been alot worse

yeah dude thank God you are ok with your girl... a car is only money in the end.

my next question i guess is, how much an an rb25de worth with gearbox and loom, it had done under 100,000

the only things i would be able to get from it would be...maybe wheels, but they are shit 2 tyres are blown/4stud,

front and rear lights, seats and dash, also the boot/spolier is fine

i really need to know because im just waiting for the guy at the wrecking yard to go "il give ya $1000 for it" and in my current financial position im kind of f**ked on

yeah oh well, i spose in a way its better i didnt waste any more money on it because it would have been 3000+ excess and even then i wouldnt have been able to collect it because of gf driving, anyway

here are some pics of the pain

the back quater panels are dented like all f**k, but the back/spoiler is perfect

I feel for you mate.

Tonight, I just had a hairy moment in my daily driver. the car has very low traction. it's a death trap. I was just driving along, I adjusted my position in my lane, then boom, the car was sideways and i was steering for my life. I hit the kerb. nothing is visibly broken, but this car is getting sold asap.

    • Wrong question. There's no point in spending the rather large sum of cash and effort to add turbo, without taking it to the "sensible" limit of the motor itself. If you have to upgrade injectors, etc, then so be it. That is a tiny fraction of what it will cost you to turbo it.
    • Measure voltage at the starter solenoid terminal when the key is at start and it has clicked. If it is really low, then the suspicion falls on the ignition switch (contacts or wiring thereof) as causing a voltage drop instead of sending enough volts to throw the solenoid all the way to engage the starter itself. If it is a decent voltage, then the suspicion is on the solenoid. Might have s horted coil, or might hva dirty contacts. Rip the starter off, dismantle, clean up contacts and inspect winding. It might not be possible to see if there is a short in the winding though. I have a spare starter here that I could measure the resistance of the coil, as a guide to about what it should be, if you need a comparison. <parts hoarder>No you cannot have it.</parts hoarder>
    • lights are on just the one click.
    • Absolutely matters because, while a temperature change will eventually reach a sensor at the end of a static line, the response time is far far far too slow to be useful. Might as well not have a temp gauge at all.
    • When I was eyeing off the 370GT (after deciding I didn't want to spend 30-40k+ to relive my early 20s in an R33) I thought it'd be a good project to add a turbo to it. Now that I have a 370GT, and I've had a couple of chances to open it up, I'm pretty stunned by how much power it makes 🫠 Honestly, the way the VVEL opens it up, it almost feels like there's a little turbo tucked away in there somewhere. It's like Nissan looked at VTEC and said "hold my beer" 😁 Has anyone thrown a turbo into their 370Z or 370GT? Is there a conservative boost level you can run without having to upgrade the fuel system, or are bigger injectors and a bigger pump a given?
