Flat Changing

Recommended Posts

i wouldn't do it, unless you have an aftermarket rev limiter

We had a little SAE car we built with a GSXR-600 engine, use to flat shift that all the time

Wouldnt do it to my line though

I used to do it in my 1988 5 Speed, V6 Commodore.

She farking loved it!

Never done in my skyline. Revs too fast and I can see something bad happening if I do.

However, when I get my launch control/spark cutting rev limiting thingo, I will.

But only on the drag strip.

how does that work?

can you explain, can't quite imagine how it works - I can't see how the gears engage without the clutch... cheers

why?

if you know how to rev match you can change without the clutch

yeah u dont need the clutch.

drive a shitter around for a while and practise it without the clutch, like nismoid says once u learn to match the revs its sweet as, wouldnt recommend taking off that way, but once ur going nothing wrong with it :P

I had one of those to well an 89 actually, extractors, twin cat exhaust system, gold 98 chip, she farking loved it too, seemed impossible to kill and surprisingly quick after the mods (well for what it was).

I wouldnt even think about flat changing in the skyline

hrm that cant be to good :P

It wasn't, a few gearbox rebuilds later and he learnt his lesson. The worse was I was driving my car and he would change the gears for me without warning!

Cheers
