Got bored this afternoon so decided to try this. Had the idea following Dezz on the last cruise, I reckon it looks alright will see what it's like at night though. I wanted to take the reflector out of the outside light as well so at night you just see the two circles but wasn't game enough to for fear of breaking the lense.

With the indicator on...put an electronic flasher in as well so they flash at the right speed now as well might use them a bit more now :D

Did this a few weeks ago but finished it off today as well. Oh the joys of 4on 4off shift work

Yeah thats exactly what I thought, looked at them before and after and they actually ook pretty similar in brightness. I might put some higher wattage ones in though cos they are a bit dull. oh the joys of an electronic flasher :D

Thats cool if they are similar, certainly gives it a nice finish. Havent seen Dezz's so will have to check it out too.

Nah he hasn't done it just got a black car, hence I thought it would look cool if all you saw at the back was the two round lights.

put a top back on HAHAHA :)

yeh I only noticed the reflection when I put the pics up on here :O and sif put a top back on, i'm preparing my beach body :)

Higher wattage ones could either melt your loom, or just continuously blow out because the housings cant dissipate the extra heat quickly enough

meh thats what fuses are for they go poppy before the wire melts

Your pictures remind me of this picture i got emailed a while back, of the guy selling the table on ebay...

Do you see what I mean?:no:

Photo removed due to nudity

<Edit>

yeah oops sorry..

Rhett

was gonna say, how'd you get the idea looking at my car....my rear indicators are some of the whitest i've seen

And to make matters worse, I actually went to look today! LOL! :D

So whose car did the idea come from, the plot thickens! :)

ive had a can of night shades in my cupboard for months...was going to put a coat or 2 on just to darken them to what everyone elses appear to be....mine and justin's seem to be some of the clearer ones i've seen...and the black paint doesnt help the situation

meh thats what fuses are for they go poppy before the wire melts :D

use replacement yellow LED globes. they're brighter and use less power  cheap and easy fix.

but I agree. LED array FTW. I'm in the process of LED arraying my tail lights, indicators and reverse lights on the new R32 :)

nah i was driving behind dezz looking at the back of his car obviously  and thought it would look much better without the white strips and the reflectors, so all you saw was 4 round circles. Saw a pic of an rx7 ages ago that had led tail lights, that had been tinted, you looked at the back of the car and it was all black no lights, then when the lights came on you would just see the led circles....looked awesome. I put 4 coats on mine, pack say 2-3 :) although depends what you call a coat as well i call a coat 2 passes with the can

I did a similar thing on my wagon ages ago but only one coat so they weren't as white, the stuff has stayed on for 2years plus with no problems, but take some iso alcohol to it and it will rub straight off <----Good if you mess up the first coat cos you didn't clean it properley :D

    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
    • 310mm rotors will be avilable from Australia, Japan, and probably a few other places. Nothing for the front can be put on the back.
    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
