Calling On All Sau Members. I Need To Scab A Set Of Rims For Engineering/rwc Of My 32gtr

Recommended Posts

If you have some could please let know if they have a spare set of rims with roadworthy tyres laying around. I would only have to drive for 100km max and have them for a few days and they will be putted around on. There will be a payment of beer or spirits provided also.

I may get pulled up by the engineer as it has s15 rims on it at the moment with 2 dead tyres so even if they pass engineering they will fail rwc. Unfortunantly I'm not able to use my 18x10's because there to big. Bummer!

The car goes in on Saturday to the engineer so I will know then if thier ok for that. I should have it back on Monday or Tuesday and reg'd by Friday providing the mechanic isn't to fussy.

If you know of a good mechanic for RWC  in the south could you please pm me their details and not post them up. I need it reg'd do the NSW excursion next fortnight and still have a fair few other bits and pieces to do to the car by then so your help will be really appriciated.

Mine have semis on them (32GTR wheels) and I'm pretty sure they are legal but they may add further concerns if the engineer is a bit dense.

Thanks guys but I might take up Geoff's offer. The stock rims will make the car look stockish for the engineer and mechanic as long as the tyres are at the legal tread depth and rated to australian standards. I can also return the rims to where ever you want them.

I have 2 - 32 GTR wheels with 100% decent rubber.

But im not sure about the other two tyres as they are on the rear.

So best case i have 4 with great rubber.

Or worst case i have 2 with great rubber, and 2 with useless rubber.

Lemme know if ya need em Gareth

I have a set of 17x7.5s with 50% B/S GIIIs on them. But they are a +40 offset, so they'll sit too far in. Up to you. No payment required.

I have a pair of R32 GTR rims on the front of my car you can borrow as long as you replace em with something else in the meantime so I can still drive the car  I just passed roadworthy/rego about a week and a bit ago with em on.

Have a set of 17's with RE55's, legal depth.

fronts: 235 (8" wide rims)

Rears: 255 (9" wide rims)

Your welcome to borrow them if you need to.

(Will clear R33 GTR Brembo's)

Thanks for all the offers. I'm have some trouble getting the ride hieght up at the moment to pass engineers cert. I'll contact on of you soon as the RWC guy knocked me back on tyres but all the other parts he picked were just globes and wipers really.

    • your right the maps for Australia came out in 2017 but are 2010 maps. i got the updated maps SD card put it in and it was the same. Same maps in my Brothers Nissan Patrol. 2020 i think his car is
    • Yeahhhh, the costs have killed me. Spent more than the cost of an engine rebuild and it most mostly servicing and a tune lol.
    • I'm not 100% how the BMW racers do it, but I know from other brands like Merc, moving, and changing the coolers is one of the things. Like getting a transcooler out from infront of the radiator to out near a wheel arch. So some of the stuff you've got crammed in the middle front, spread it out and open up where you can in the bar to get more air in to the sides.
    • Small update for the day... Turns out the intercooler and engine coolant hose kits are anything but complete....I probably should have counted better but it only really covers about half the coolant hoses in the car, it really just covers the visible stuff and pretends everything else doesn't exist (turbo water feed and returns and also heat exchanger lines through the 2 pumps and cooler) .In any case, I'm happier to have half reliable hoses than none, but a bit of a disappointment. Anyway...finger click (and 5 hours).....hoses in place, lots of spring clamps replaced with screw clamps, and engine coolant is on the pressure tester for the night.   Incidentally, upsized header tank is an Inifiniti factory option....not sure I'll ever do prod car racing in this but at least it is legal.
    • Just weld it onto the hot pipe. If you want it right after the turbo, put it right after the turbo. Or rip the comp cover off and drill and tap a hole into it.
