Can anyone recommend a place to get a decent tune? I've heard to stay away from Monster performance.

I'm running Injen CAI, Kinetix V+ Upper Plenum & soon to fit an exhaust so i want to get a tune done before i go to Townsville in December to get the air/fuel ratio back to normal and a bit more power.

Thanks

Don't really think it will need tuning i had Injen CAI, Motodyne Plenum Spacer and Fast Intension Dual Cat Back Exhaust on my 350Z and i never tuned it and it ran awesome, i also had the rev-up engine in mine which has extra 15kw form factory dunno if that would have made a difference. It's not a Forced induction car so doing those mods will not have a huge effect on the power level and getting it tuned will not do a great deal for it.

This was my initial thoughts but i had a friend recomend get a tune after i do the exhaust. I have noticed since installing the CAI that my fuel is absolutely guzzling out :/

Mines decreased a lot, yes i pulled the MAF out of the stock intake and into the Injen system. Didn't have any problems though it was just straight plug in. I'm probably getting not even 500km off a tank now

dont buy a turbo skyline then :P

I could be wrong but I think Ben was talking about adjusting the AFM perhaps?

I know you could do this on the VL's

but if your dead set on getting a tune I think your better off waiting till you get to Townsville. There are a few workshops there that sound trustworthy, more then I can say for here

It's N/A bro. Yeah i think that's going to be the go i may just have to wait until then.

Not sure what you have done to it but i was getting 600-700kms out my Z when i had it 8.7L per 100kms in town/highway/thrashing it didn't matter.

Ahh really, that's roughly what i'm getting per 100km though. I will fill up tonight and do a test, all i do is to and from work and out to ooralea a bit.

Oh I just meant if your complaining about fuel economy now, dont get a turbo Skyline haha. I'm lucky to get 400km around town out of mine, but I think I have some issues at the moment.

Is your tank smaller then the 350Z's? Seems to be the thing most people forget about. Complain there only getting 400km around town but then only have a 40L tank.

Find someone with a standalone wideband and go for a drive with that hooked up. Will tell you how far out your cruise mixtures are.

    • The question then becomes - was there any fluid coming from that hole before you did the rebuild ?    You may not have noticed, of course.   Depending on how you did the rebuild, the possibility has to be considered that somehow (cleaning ?)  fluid entered that hole and is now being 'forced'  out by small movements of the proportioning valve.   From the factory, there's actually a small rubber plug in that hole but with age and under-bonnet heat it's quite common for it to 'go missing'.  That rubber plug is designed to allow the venting process but also to prevent 'stuff' getting to the area (prevent corrosion, etc).   The plug is also not available as a spare part AFAIA. Personally I wouldn't race and buy a new master just yet but keep an eye on the area to see if the 'leak' continues.   If you're concerned about brake fluid damaging nearby paintwork, cable tie a piece of suitable absorbant material over the hole and remove/monitor occasionally.    Operation of the proportioning valve and the brake master itself won't be affected, but also keep an eye on brake fluid level, of course. In terms of a new master, the genuine part is getting expensive, unfortunately.  Amayama is showing AUD900+.   I was searching recently and there's an aftermarket part available from Japan made by 'Parts Assist': https://zenmarket.jp/en/yahoo.aspx?q=BNR32%2bBM50&p=1 Whether it's any good I have no idea, although in my experience Japanese aftermarket stuff is pretty good quality-wise.   The above site allows overseas buyers to purchase stuff more easily from Japan but there are fees and shipping costs, of course.   The original Japanese seller page is here: https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/p1197401228 Copper/Nickel is fine but I still prefer bundy tube and it's also cheaper.
