"...super fun happy sliders moments. They teach wet weather breaking, swerving and a few steering techniques to get you out of trouble. You have to do the higher levels in the AHG skidpan car for them to show you how to correct over/under steer.

Now that sounds like fun, :) but any time you can have a safe controlled environment to try out you moves must be a good thing

...Even Mr kleets had an off at the skid pan in his GTR ... No damage and no curbs (besides the damage to Mr kleets ego :))

Yes, but it was all good fun..infront of dozen ppl from the club :rant: Vengence shall be mine when W.A. Suspension set up my circuit spec SK suspension package, or maybe i'll just run off into the scenery at a higher mph.

More info on these non-instructed skidpan days.. :)

Yes plz

As for the HICAS issue, find a diagram with the search button then crawl under the back end and look for the bar, 33's are easier to disable than my 32 and you can get the bar cheap cheap from a forum member

on the RAC report it sais "the rear steering system is inoperative"

haha id suggest you ring the RAC and ask for the mechanic to ring oyu, but it wont happen :S theyre useless

i tried that but i rang 3 times and he still never called.

saw this today trent was next to us nice ride nice paint i want those wheels on my car gtr stock rims are awesome

Also if you havnt read earlier, i saved up 15 grand myself, and my mum said she would match it. She wants to see me save up for something I would love to own. So i did, took a LONNG time.

Dont wish me luck, u dont mean it man. Just save it :)

well said dude!just drag every commonwhore driver thats whats a go and see them eat ultimate 98.i drive a skyline gtst auto,i cant drive manual cars because of a very dodgy left knee, but you get that :) my ride still goes alright with the basic mods, does 13'sec 1/4 for now, upgrading turbo next month with a highflow from sliding performane, hopefully run a mid to high 12 with good tune, good luck with the car dude

The HICAS operates at speed and the rears are only steered through a very small angle of about 1 degree, out of phase to aid turn in.

It's not something the RAC guy is going to 'see' like he would on a Mazda where the 4WS works under 35kmh and has upto 5 degrees of angle change.

Spot on rev210, on top of the fact that I wouldn't trust what an rac inspection says about an import in the first place :)

Yes, they will also do a compression test and a driver beat down.

:) , Samuel L Jackson style?. Beat down or reality check..its all in the language.

Its pretty simple, lock bar or no lock bar, hicas light or no light, slighly odd turn in to low-mid speed corners or not.

    • oh they were with that motor, you need to remove the engine to change the spark plugs (don't have to, but it does make it easier)
    • I certainly fall into the annoyed camp, but glad to hear that if it's happening at low boost then I'm not likely going to blow a turbo and end up with metal shards in my oil. Just feels like it prevents me from really driving it without hesitation and "peak" performance. Wonder if it's the VCAM, it did an impressive job of shifting the torque curve and faster spool, but maybe now it's "too fast" and there's too much air for how open the throttle is.  Based on some other threads, will also do some reading on synchronizing the actuators. They are the default actuators that come on the Garrett's and I would think they would be set the same coming from the factory, but if the turbos don't actually work exactly the same way at the same time as previously mentioned, it would be worth making sure the actuators are actuating together properly
    • I went down this rabbit hole before, ended up sourcing a motor from the UK (I'm in Japan) which also didn't function correctly. With the original motor, I disassembled it and reassembled it and it works somewhat, sometimes. What I could deduce from all my screwing around is that there is calibration of the gears on the inside of the motor and two ramps on the main gear which activate switches that operate the motor and move the sunroof either to retract into the roof or tilt. Where I got stuck was that, it seemed in my case that one or both of the switches that are activated by the ramp on the gear did not always activate and thus the motor did not move, causing it to sometimes not retract or tilt (apologies, I've forgotten which way it didn't work.).  Of course this part is discontinued at Nissan now, it's the same part in the S15 but no other models. I also contacted the manufacturer of the component for schematics - forgot the name, they're based in Gifu - but they declined to share the information due to being bound by an NDA, sadly. Looking through my pictures now, it seems I last had a crack at this in 2022. See, I so kindly wrote "open" and "close" next to the switches. If you figure it out, please do tell me. Those little switches, with the red buttons may need to be replaced.
    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
