yeah the aussie kirin is very creamy. you are right, it is reminisent of a crownie. the japanese stuff is a bit nicer. but I still think asahi and malts are way better.

I tried Kirin Ichiban last night at a fancy restuarant.

The waiter gave me it then said "number wan!"

It made me smile considering that its not such a common beer.

It wasnt as good as what you guys said it would be - tasted kinda like a crownie.

Bet ya it was made here :)

Thats why its not as good

Fuji Mart in South Yarra import real Asahi Super Dry. They also have a couple of types of real Kirin, in the 500ml can.

They are in behind KFC on Chapel St. Its a total japanese supermarket, just like walking into Every or Fresta, or even Family Mart or Lawson.

Pity they dont bring in Asahi (Shin nama) 3. its may favourite hops beer for under 700yen a 6pack.

Im in Japan at the moment on holidays, in Hokkaido.

Went to the sapporo beer factory and museum two days ago, was pretty good. Afterwards had a tasting, 3 beers for 400 yen.

Having now tried all the beers available out of the street vending machines, I think Sapporo Draft is the best. easy drinking, not too out there and really impressive.

I love Japanese beers, with Asahi being my favourite, and Kirin and Sapporo being a tied second. I had sapporo for the first time the other day in a can and I really liked it! I'm usually not a can person, but even with 650ml it stayed cold right until the end, was great. You can buy it at The Vineyard in Acland st, was about 10-10.50 a can I think, which wasn't bad considering Coronas were $7.50 or $8

i'm telling you. kirin brau meister, or suntory the premium malts, or ebisu is the thinking japanese mans beer! lol. the sapporo we get here is quite good, but if you want to try the japanese stuff hunt some out in a bottle. it's available now at more places, and is made in japan.

repeat after me:

"Kirin brau meister oishii desu ne"

I've had the sapporo in a bottle, they serve it at Kanpai on Chapel st. It's delicious!

Ash: Yeah mate, something like that  Just popped down for a few brewskies with some mates, always good on a warm night, especially when drinking sapporo's that stay cold right until the end :action-smiley-069:

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
